Makes no difference to me. It's about what is best for the club between now and the end of the season or until such time as a better player comes in. Playing someone in the hopes that they might get better is potential suicide -he should only be played if he is better now, because that's what's important now. Nothing he has done has given that impression. Do you honestly feel confident when he is in goal?
Part of him ****ing up and jitters are down to inept defenders that put him under pressure and don't communicate but all in all he doesn't inspire confidence or organise his defence, good shotstopper (would have saved Sane's goal on Sunday)but not good at saving penalties. Klopp gave Mignolet a new improved 5 year contract a couple of months after he took over despite the mistakes, as for Karius, he played for Klopp's old club Mainz and seems to be a pet of Klopp who likes him. We need a better keeper (probably two because neither of Mignolet/Karius will happily play 2nd fiddle. After all the hard graft our attacking players put in to get what would be assailable leads for other clubs they watch the 3,4 or 5 goals cancelled out, must be but wrenching going in after losing some of the leads we have had, but Mignolet just trots out for the next game and makes the same mistakes.
Erm, how many keeper's let 13 pens get past him in one game. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/29216833
Napoli want Mignolet... also frees up Reina to go to Newcastle. I'll take Oblak or this Allison dude please.
100% karius is not up to it at all. Here is the thing. 3 goals Sunday. One down to keeper. What about the other 2. 3 goals v arsenal.1 down to mingolet whwt about the other 2. List goes on... judt how people expect a gk to fix all the problems just like they expect vvd on his own to fix it I don't know. It's all just one piece of a puzzle. Mingolet on his own isn't costing us anything most of the time. Liverpool need a good keeper, solid and reliable fine but put lovren and Henderson in front what happens..... Let's just get all the pieces together. If mingolet wants to **** off cos he got dropped for letting a xhaka shot in fine **** off then. Karius won't be that much worse tbh... oh he's **** but **** it if it accelerates a new keeper coming great.
Mignolet doesn't rule his area with confidence, he should be the boss in his area, he should be barking orders out to his defenders, he can see oncoming threats better than defenders because his vista encapsulates the whole pitch in front of him in open play etc It's as much down to coordination as it is coming for corners of shot stopping. Yep the defenders are to blame for many goals and that also needs addressing pronto.
Only thing I can see as a positive with Karius is that he’ll smother a ball, get straight back up and roll it out. That’s key to counter attacking football. A shame he’s totally inept in every other department!
That would be nice but.. well... which arsenal goal would that prevent? our lot are **** and Peter schmichael organisation count fix some of them
