Yes, correct, but in the games between Bournemouth and Palace, Stephens was preferred to a fit Pied at RB. Pied only came in because Stephens had to move into CB with Yoshi.
According to BBC sports website, Klassen is going cheap I know he hasn't made it at Everton but he was RK number one target last summer, ex Ajax captain and an attacking central midfielder so surely he must have something about him. Could be worth a cheeky "little" bid
No, said at the time of them signing him he would be a flop. Doesn’t excel at anything really, and there was nothing that stood out for me watching him numerous times at Ajax that made me think he would do well in the Prem. Very similar to De Jong at Newcastle
http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/01/0...on-fans-react-to-stuart-armstrong-speculatio/ In the absence of any likely news, let's go with the rumours circling the plughole. Armstrong from Celtic....the fans views. Mixed views from Celtic fans...some want to keep him, some would drive him here for that sort of money (10 million). Not unexpectedly, Saints fans think we are buried under midfielders....perhaps, though I wouldn't mind a real attacking MF....they can be as useful as a striker. Armstrong isn't one of those magical creatures though. Celtic and Rangers must regard us quite favourably.....annoying that we take their better players, but there is a chance that we gloss the gingerbread and sell them on at a nice profit for both Saints and the Scottish club. Nothing here really, but this thread is going awful cold.
Cedric used to do that a lot; players can improve. My only worry about Targett is pace - that's the one thing you can't learn.
Personally I have never got the hype. Scored goals coming off the bench against teams knackered after playing Man City for 60/70 minutes, or when the game is stretched because the other team is going for it. Not saying he is a bad player but just have never understood why people rated him so highly, hasn't shown enough yet for me. If this is true then there must be a reason why Leicester are giving up on him so soon as well.
I was one of those who thought he would be a great signing.....I also thought Salah would be a bust......shows what I know about football
Hasn't he been injured for large parts? I'd be surprised if Leicester were looking to get rid already. @JohnTheFox any idea mate?
Regarding Salah as I mentioned before with Klaasen, when I watch players in the weaker leagues they need to have a standout quality that could make them successful in the PL. Klaasen didn't have any to me, Salah had his pace and finishing. I didn't expect him to be as good as he has been but thought he would be a good addition for Liverpool. With Iheanacho only being 21 as well if a manager like Pep has allowed him to move on then I doubt he will ever become top class.
He got injured on his debut in a friendly after coming on and linking up immediately with Mahrez and Vardy (we thought we were in for a dream season at that point). He doesn’t seem to have regained fitness and been down the pecking order. TBf Vardy is always first choice as he’s a top striker at this level but he’s been behind Slimani too. I want us to give him more of a chance but can also see the side of it posted by some on here that maybe it was deceptive playing for Man City and that Pep didn’t keep him around. He still clearly knows how to finish and Pep did insist on a buy back clause so maybe he isn’t a write off
