Have we ever warmed to Pearson?

I know he's got some stick in the last week, but even in the last few months of last season when we were on a good run of form, have we ever really warmed to him?

With Brownie, we not only loved the success he brought to the club, but also he had a personality as well. But NP seems to come across as unhappy and dour most of the time (except when he does the weekly nervous chuckle in his interview on Radio Humberside).

Sure, if he got us back to the promised land he would be appreciated. But that looks quite unlikely at the moment and it's always difficult to see where the tiger legion think of him. What do you think?:huh:
 
Great Manager, just give him time and we will get the results. Even Sir Alec took a while to get Man U working in the right direction, he seems to have done ok.
 
I have stated before on here, i spent some time talking to the bloke quite accidentally and on a friendly basis about 9 months ago for around 1 and 1/2 hours. He is genuine, knowledgeable and unquestionably the right man for the job. What You See Is What You Get......i can warm to that
 
I've never met the bloke but I can't help but like the cut of his jib .

He's the polar opposite of Brownie and that can't be a bad thing .

The problem with that is that 99.9% of City fans will never get the oppoertunity to get to know him in the way you have, they must rely on the media.

That is Nigel Pearson's problem, in terms of the subject of this thread.

NP can be as un-media-friendly as he wishes (or cannot help) but the bottom line is that he will come under unwarranted pressure from the fans BECAUSE OF HIS MEDIA PERSONA. At some time (probably sooner the otherwise would be) that may well cost him his job.

Not right, but a fact.

Clearly not a people person are you? I hope he stays and gets it right, which he will. Simon Grayson lost a hell of a lot of games in his opening season at Blackpool a few years back, then they went on a really impressive unbeaten run. I wouldn't worry about it.
 
With Brownie I wanted to watch the matches and listen to his interviews. With Pearson I never have any desire for the latter.
He's boring and also quite unprofessional at times, in the sense that he sounds like a sulky school kid who's been given a harsh detention.
That's only when we lose, but it's still irritating.

Not that I think he should leave because of his radio personality.. if he gets results then fine by me, just don't expect me to hear him speak.
 
I thought he was the right man for the job when he first arrived, and I still do. I think he is steering us in the right direction, yes he has made mistakes, but when he arrived the club was in a mess, the squad was a mess, it may take 2 to 3 years to see success, but so what, we have no devine right to be in the premiership right now, I can wait.

You mean like when he went on national television and claimed to have stopped someone jumping off the Humber Bridge ?

Brownie was full of **** .He loved himself and in all honesty was a bit of a Dick .
Like I said I have never met Pearson. I used to talk to Brownie regularly , that's when it suited him and when he could be arsed .

He really was an arrogant prick if truth be told .

thing is when i first heard him doing interviews rather than thinking he was being uncooperative or evasive or whatever i just thought he was toying with the interviewer and had the measure of him and in a way i quite liked that. that may have been a misinterpretation on my part. have to admit i havent heard any of this seasons interviews and havent heard any where he has got stroppy
 
I don't give a shuyt,how he comes across on the radio or the tv. The man is employed to guide Hull city to the premier league. And so are the managers of every other club.

Anything else is so much nonsense ! Given time,i believe he will get us there !
 
i like him and his media approach - especially when compared to Brown .
tho never having met the man , the one thing that does come across is he seems awkward and huffy in his interviews - but not bolshy or full of himself.
 
I like Pearson and don't want him to go, but after the start we've had to the season, why aren't we discussing more pressing matters like his abysmal home record with us or his refusal to accept that the tactics have to change to suit the team, not vice-versa?
 
His aversion to interviews is common knowledge but he's not here for his personality. My opinion is that he is a little out of his depth at this level but to be fair he has very little to work with. The players brought in were the best available that were commensurate to his war-chest so he was never going to do much this season.
Our great concern is that we have failed to attract 'quality' players or players with potential, which only a 'high-profile' Manager with a bit of charisma would be able to do, and I honestly cannot see Nigel being able to attract players of that calibre.

Me and my lad got talking to Browny in a coffee shop half way through our first season in the prem i was like a little kid meeting his idol. He invited us to sit with him after i told him That i was a city fan.After 5 mins like nfu said the man was a knob in fact he was worse.You would of thought city didnt have a past it was all about him.I made my exuse and left.So what if pearson **** at giving inteviews i just want him to turn our home form around.
 
I like Nigel Pearson and I think he is doing a good job considering the state Hull City were in when he took over. To me we are still a team in the making and though we would have all liked to see a few bigger named players brought in we can only get what we can afford. Nigel Pearson will get things sorted sooner or later, alot depends on how much the Allams make available cash wise . I also look forward to Nigel pearsons post match interviews. We know he won't slag any player off in public and he keeps everything close to his chest. I wouldn't Like to be one of the players in the dressing room after a poor display because in private I think Nigel Pearson blows his top. The guy doesn't suffer fools in my opinion. Reminds me of how Brian clough use to be in post match interviews. Things will come good I am sure of that and I still don't rule out a top 6 finish if the Allams release some cash . I don't think any manager could have done a better job in such a short time at a club that where heading out of football when he took over. Myself I think NP should be given 3 seasons from the day he took charge before we judge him but thats just my opinion.

HERE HERE. This is the type of manager i prefer. I had had more than enough of showbiz media obsessed Brown and Duffen. They were an embarrassment to the club and fans. Brown should have been reigned in after his Pitch singing after the man utd game may 2008. But alas No. He got worse as did Duffers transfers in and out of the club. Left the club in a massive hole and the rest is history.
I think AP/NP are waiting for nearer to deadline day when players and agents drop there wage demands. There is still so much out there waiting to be signed up. Plus the PL 25 man squads go in soon and there will be many who are frozen out and will need to go out on loans or be sold. Patience.

Hull City need someone like NP> Glad we have him. He will do the biz. Just listen to Liams interview on saturday after the Palace game.
