You realise these are league stats. So whether we beat a big team like City or a small team like Everton counts for the same points. But that doesn't mean we will not miss him.

N.a... .. He downed tools. Klopp without Henderson , with a mopey Can, an ageing Milner, a rusty Lala could not afford to have a player who would be "injured" for nearly a quarter of the remaining months and then possibly half assed the rest yet too big a player to drop without constant questioning and distraction.

Another injury to Salah or Mane and we would be ****ed. Still will be but at least the snivelling little sulk isn't stinking up the place and we got top dollar for him.

He doesn't have to have loyalty to the club but I'm not going to go all weepy and nostalgic for the times he did his highly paid job.

Like other players once he's gone and the dust settles I may later appreciate his skills at Barca when watching but I'll not think of him as some great Liverpool player of yesteryear

Why do people read too much into football transfers?

He gave us five good years, some superb. He wanted to join Barca but still perform for six months after being denied the opportunity (whether by us or Barca).

I've said before, I'm a Liverpool fan and I'd want to leave had I got the opportunity to play for Barca!

I say good luck to the lad, hope he reaches the next level.

Said this to tobes earlier as well though when mentioned same, to play devils advocate, let’s say yes he’s only played in the toughe rgames. Well he hasn’t helped us against them has he d we’ve got poor record against them.

Hes not played against easy teams and we have good record so we havent needed him against him against them which is good. He hasn’t Helped us beat the harder teams even when he has been playing so will he be missed?

          @1459 Dear Phillipe
Good luck learning Spanish. I believe Portugese-speakers can find the language slightly challenging and remember they don't have a word in their dictionary for words like 'blert'.

You are mistaken: I understand the gentleman in row 43 is Jose Mourinho in a false beard eyeing up the opposition and the Rolex came from Messi's pocket when he refused to sign for united. x

... I'm all over anything said about Leicester City ... and that is all ... particularly if it's inaccurate, I'll informed or stemming from bias, conscious or not ... Mahrez has scored goals against or assisted in goals against all the so called big clubs ... it's only because he's done it playing for little Leicester that there is such a load of irrational rubbish spouted ...

I'm sorry, but people can't seriously be suggesting that Coutinho didn't make much of a difference? He was often THE difference for our team! Stats, goals and assists aside, use your eyes.

Right now, we've got to play another 5 months with a midfield choice of the injured and deteriorating Henderson who's not got an ounce of creativity in him, an aging Milner who despite his workrate hasn't got a creative bone in him, Can who doesn't want to be here and is lazy when it comes to tracking back most of the time, a very rusty Lallana who isn't close to Coutinho's level, Wijnaldum who I would say is good at what he does (holding the ball and keeping possession with a bit of tackling) but isn't going to change the game, Oxlade-Chamberlain who looks alright but like Lallana isn't close to Coutinho's level...and you start to worry.

Sure Coutinho played better as LWF and didn't play as a traditional midfielder when put there, but he still made that difference as someone who picked it up deep and made things happen. None of our current lot can do that.

Until summer, our midfield is a shambles and even then, we're pinning our hopes on Keita who may take time to settle anyway.

The sky isn't falling, but we'll be lucky to finish top 4 right now never mind the likes of VVD, Salah, Mane and Firmino looking at what the club's ambition is. You've gotta make that jump up to the elite fast or you'll continually be replacing and rebuilding and getting nowhere.

That has a league title thanks to a great team and great spirit. With the african player of the year being key in it.

The Point is we know he's class and recognise how good he is, just not sure where he'd play. What I do know is, he won't buy a play maker like coutiniho again.

    Liverpool want Jan Oblak
According to reports in the Daily Star, Liverpool are planning a sensational swoop for Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak. Jurgen Klopp is reportedly interested in using the funds received from Philippe Coutinho's departure to strengthen their troublesome goalkeeping position. The Reds have been let down by the performances of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius in recent times, with neither of them showing consistency between the sticks.

Oblak is considered as one of the best players in his department at the moment and has been attracting interest from a number of clubs including Paris-Saint Germain. The Slovenian is one of Diego Simeone's key players at the Wanda Metropolitano and his release clause stands at a whopping £100m.

Real Madrid "failed with last ditch £177m bid" for Barcelona new boy Philippe Coutinho
The Brazilian will tie up his switch from Liverpool to the Nou Camp in the coming days, but reports in Spain claim Barca's rivals tried to muscle in on the deal
