Dont really understand tonight. Lambert made 11 changes? To go out and almost purposly lose a game doesnt really help towards that whole winning mentality. What sort of confidence and experience can that give our fledgling stars and fringe players. They were sent out to slaughter against an inform MKs tonight.
I wouldn't be suprised if they were told to just go out and treat it like a friendly, avoid injury if at all possible and try and get a little match fitness. That was not Norwich on the pitch tonight, it was 11 players who needed a little game time who were al taking it a little easy to protect their fitness for the important games.
Afraid I entirely disagree with that Kenny. It may not a priority, but no way would Lambert EVER send out a team in a competitive match with paying punters turning up to watch without wanting to win it, absolutely no way. Sounds like Ayala was actually trying to get himself injured from what I've heard, dangling his leg out and bottling a tackle. First thing I learnt in football that was as a nipper (that and "if in doubt, kick it out").
Feel sorry for the fans who paid to go, but I agree about the injuries and not exerting our players too much for Saturday.
Foggo come on mate you can't be seriously suggesting that Lambert picked a side to go out and lose! I have heard of excuses but **** me boy that takes some beating! If it is true then Lambert has betrayed all those paying punters that did turn up!
Whatever way you dress it up, its extremely disappointing! I think it illustrates how important our will-to-win has been in the last two seasons- lambert wont of sent the team out to lose, but he wont have had them as pumped up for it as they normally are! MK dons sound like a quality outfit tho to be fair!
We met a team full of goals with a second string (mk scored six at the weekend) I put it to you that this season is ALL about the league, it must be our soul purpose to stay here. While I'm always disappointed to see Norwich lose I'm frankly glad to be out of a competition that can sap valuable resources away from the bread and butter campaign, the Barclays Premier League, where we certainly look like we belong.
