So on New Years Eve I was at party and get into a conversation with a Man Utd fan. Somehow we got into conversation about what I'd rather see City win. The Europa League or the FA Cup? He seemed baffled when I said the FA Cup. Apparently because the Europa League is a European trophy it's more prestigious. To me the FA Cup final is one of greatest days in the sporting calendar. I remember growing up watching the final. I don't have that about the Europa League.
I'd rather win the Europa League.....travelling to various places around Europe would be (and should have been) a great experience.
I would rather win the Europa League, travelling around Europe with City and getting a place in the Champions League. Doing that could either a) Set the club up for life and give us enough income to build a new training ground and academy b) Give the Allams more money.
You should have said 'The Supporting Your Local Team Cup' and walked off, assuming the party wasn't in Manchester or the aforesaid wasn't from Manchester.
The pride I felt at the start of the FA Cup Final was incredible, and when we went 2-0 up, we nearly won the bastard, no idea what a Europa Cup Final would be like, never ever thought City would get to an FA Cup Final and can't ever see it happening again, but to win it would do my head in. She wore an Amber ribbon in the merry month of May...
Middlesbrough & Fulham neither massive clubs got to EL finals - ask their fans Somehow the 'Europa League' sounds wishy-washy compared to the good old UEFA Cup or Cup Winners' Cup at least we knew what those meant It was great actually playing in Europe and I'll never forget the experience but winning the FA Cup might have just topped it
FA Cup no question. Oldest and best cup in the world. FACT. The Europa Cup is like that Caraboa one. No one cares.
Any cup would do. But I'm with Ernie on winning a game, any game. Once you've won the Billy Bly Trophy - The FA Cup and Europa Cup sound a bit hollow. Ask your Man Utd supporting friend if they have won the Billy Bly Trophy!
