With Lord Adonis bravely speaking out against the atrociously woeful brexit. It’s time more people spoke out against this one way track to disaster.
Hopefully Corbyn and an opposition will speak up against this mess like sir Nick Clegg and our saviour Tony Blair are doing.

With all due respect, it seems to me that anyone backing Brexit to be a 100% disaster, or conversely saying we must 100% leave is being pretty close-minded.

It's pretty clear that some possible outcomes of Brexit could well be of large, in fact massive, benefit to us. It's just whether or not that scenario of Brexit is actually attainable.

Let's bear in mind, 52% of a vote winning doesn't mean they should get 100% of the final 'result' so to speak. You have to make concessions for the 48% too.

No you don't. it was a simple question..Do we leave the EU or not.

The majority said leave, if the Stay would have won would you have applied the same argument? We should perhaps leave a little bit..

Thats been the problem with this from the start, trying to please everyone.

Stay lost.. stop ****ing whining and get over it.

Sorry gents but that's an absolute nonsense. Whether the vote choice was binary or not you make concessions when the vote is so close. No of course you cannot 'leave a little bit' but had stay won by the same margin, a sensible government would then be trying to seek ways to appease the 48% who voted leave (in that scenario). Going by your logic a government should behave the exact same whether a majority is 51% or 99%, which is absolutely ludicrous. Nearly half the voting population wanted to stay. You cannot simply ignore all of those voters.

Banksy you're particularly aggressive tonight and I'm not sure why. Before telling me to stop ****ing whining it might benefit you to know that my preference was leave.

Had we voted to stay , we would have stayed in , as it was we voted to leave, therefore we leave. It's called democracy Rob

It was directed at all and any Whining remoaners not you particularly, in fact it was actually aimed at Mind the gap in that post.

Rob the rest of your post is utter nonsense, a vote is exactly that, a way to decide a winner by majority vote. this was the largest mandate ever given in any vote undertaken in this country, there is no please everybody option!

So are you trying to tell me there isn't differing levels of staying and leaving? Democracy is a system of government where the whole population is accurately represented. Going all in on 52% of the population and ignoring 48% is absolutely not democracy. If you truly believed in that then you'd be taking my point of view.

Fair enough to you first bit banksy. But okay. So in your opinion, there were only 2 outcomes on this vote? Either we go balls deep on Brexit, or we go balls deep on staying in? And that's it? Regardless of the vote there is no other viewpoint or option to take in? Unless of course the vote had been exactly 50:50... That's the ultimate in close-mindedness.

Brexit is about more than one bloody thing. We could push to leave Europe and still have access to the single market. We could push to stay in Europe and allow ourselves to control immigration. I'm not saying that either of those are realistic, they're just examples but there are different levels that we can aim for to appease both sides you know... You don't have to go all in on either side.

So tell me rob had the result been 52% in and 48% out then what? , would we have stayed in but looked at ways to partially come out ? . That's a daft argument, or 70% to 30% would mean more out but partial in ,I'm afraid it's one or the other and we voted out , so out it is whether you like it or not.

Britain regularly gets a Government the majority do not vote for. The vote to leave the EU was wholly democratic.

Rob, leaders of the EU have said on multiple occasions those things cannot be negotiated and being in the EU means you accept them or you don't accept them and leave.. it has been said so many times its boring.

Democracy isn't about appeasing everyone and never has been, if we did that nothing would ever get done would it. just like Bristol Council, constantly appeasing all sides and no action ever get taken. (look at the farce surrounding our arena)

Democracy is about imposing the will of the majority, the other side lose. its that simple.

Exactly , we want, amongst other things, control of our borders, the ability to do trade deals with other countries , not to be controlled by the ECJ, Europe won't allow us to do these these things whilst staying in Europe, we chose those that things over European membership that's what the vote was for. If you can somehow allow us to do all the things we want whilst remaining in Europe then fine , but truth is you can't , so unfortunately we have to leave.

When we went into the common market we didn't vote, but we did vote later whether to stay in , the result of the vote was a majority to stay in , so we stayed in , we didn't accommodate the minority that voted not to stay in by somehow partially coming out, we went with the majority and stayed in , it's no different now.

The people voted 52% to 48% for out..
The MP's voted 498 to 114 to trigger article 50 bill to negotiate terms out and leave.

That is enough for me, just go ahead and get the bloody job done, remember we are leaving the EC not leaving Europe.
Reading mtg post makes me wonder is he a Corbynister, a Blairite or a Liberal, they can't all be our saviours.
