Just watch the game recorded earlier and have not read any posts so want to comment with a fresh unbiased mind. One of the best performances THIS year. Finally fielded a team that had balance. We missed Charlie but Shane did play well but he is snake bit right now and cannot score. Though the midfield was excellent and boufal was always involved, he could have taken a couple of runs at United but I think he is playing a little couscous at the moment. Refreshing to see McQueen playing again. Defense held firm, I think with this team, and adding Cedric back in and Bertrand plus a striker, we have a fighting chance for the rest of the season. Commentators on NBC questioning how Saints could be 3 points off the relegation zone, but they must have missed a few of our home games this year. I know there are plenty of Redmond and Davis fans on here and if you read any of my posts I have been crying out for a game without them on the team sheet and this was one where IMHO we did not miss them. I am not a happy clapper but surely if we put in the same effort with close to the same team we will improve on the first halve of the season and with a couple of incoming players giving us options we hopefully can turn the **** was have been seeing into something worth watching. Proud of the team today.

Couscous or cautious!?

It was more the amusement of the word, relative to the player!
I understand no offence taken, I need to proof read my posts more often. I was dreading watching the game today so for once I can use an old term my rugby coach told me one day, "beer never taste good in defeat" so I am working on the last of a six pack as I type and it is tasting really sweet right now.

Likewise sir. Having a celebratory pint myself. Yes, wasn’t correcting the post, just entertained by the Moroccan reference!

Well that was goooood. McCarthy was a revelation, PEH was strong, Boufal is getting better and better. And defence not too bad at all given the 2 missing FBs (& VVD gone). Very encouraging.

We need a leader at the back next to Hoedt, And a Striker, Who is going to get you 20 goals and we look very threatening.

I mised the match live and went to see Star Wars - The Last Jedi instead. I found out about the result after the film, and it sounds like The Force was as much in evidence at Old Trafford as it was at the cinema. As long as the rebels can stick together/regroup and we don't miss Skywalker's presence too much, we should easily take down the Palace Death Star (to mix several metaphors and more than one Star Wars film).

<doh> trouble is I think you’re right. Said before, I think it was a rest to “allow” Alex to get get tonked & then prodigal returns. Hope we’re wrong.

Back up keeper comes in and keeps a clean sheet at OT. That's called taking your chance - he can't be dropped now.
