Liverpool have paid over the odds for players bought from us and it's not exactly made their latest player any cheaper. Especially considering who he's replacing.Well, to date it's been penny wise, pound foolish. We mucked about in summers past and failed to get players in, and now the result is that we're going to have to spend over the odds to rescue the situation.
Being cheap can be very expensive.

Big dough no guarantee though. Time we got back to spending clever dough like the good old days - eg VVD Ryan Mane Oriel Morgan
Bearing in mind he has hardly trained properly or played in 2017, it would be interesting to see how fit he is.
The Scouse Scum will have to put him into their team immediately regardless of his fitness so how long before he potentially breakdown? We can hope
He won't go in the team if he's not fit end of. Klopps big on thatWhy?

Even if they get 50mil of it to spend clubs now know they have big money burning a hole in their pocket. Exactly! I’m more interested in the quality of the player.
I know massive prices were quoted in the summer, but I never believed in them. We are selling now because our needs are different and Liverpool have had to pay much higher that they hoped to do when they thought they could do a unilateral deal with VVD. I'd call us winners....if I didn't look at our resultsSome of the money has to be spent now on players that may not be the best in the Universe, but can make a difference to us. May get us those valuable points....though I have no confidence that we will do better than adequate as I have lost all faith in our manager. And remember I am that fan who clings till the last minute to belief in our players and management.

To be honest Fran it's not a bad deal for either club in the grand scheme of things. We were/are proper desperate for a leader at the back and he'd thrown his dummy out and stopped even trying for you guys.
You did the right thing in the summer, but selling so early in Jan does make me think you probably wished (in hindsight) you'd sold him early doors in the summer window.
It didn't happen, it has now. Saints are happy with the 75mil. Liverpool had a target for midfield and defence and a budget, we landed both within the budget.
Fans getting caught up in the money argument are being naive. Clubs in the PL generally have **** loads of money, so 60mil or 75mil, to us that's a lot, but to our clubs it's peanuts.
Only negative is you don't have any other players that I'd want us to come in for.... possibly Bertrand![]()

Not so sure about that, we've got a cracking young, English winger by the name of Nathan Redmond ... more than good enough to step up.
Our usual definition of "reinvest the cash", then. We'll save the majority for summer, when prices are better, and then we'll miss out on some of our top targets, but we'll have money to spend in January, when we'll save the majority for the following summer when prices are better.

...And don't forget our England Goalkeeper.
