I've been working lots of Saturdays in the last few months, so today was only my third or fourth game of the season, but I've got to say, I was quite impressed. We certainly look a different kettle of fish under Adkins; he's got a point to prove, and it shows. Third-placed team made to look ****e. A bit more composure in front of goal and we'd have won with plenty to spare.

No surprise to see a fair bit of moaning on here, though. Same in the stadium today. I felt like twatting one **** who did nowt but whine and call players ****e all afternoon...

Onwards and upwards, City.

Did you offer to discuss it on Queens car park?<laugh>

Wow - how bad are Swansea? Just watching them on SKY. They are worse than we were last season.

That really does stick in my throat, they were worse than us last season, but just managed to pull out a couple of results when it mattered. Looks as if they are going to join us now next season, as long as we stay in this division.

Sounds as if it was another decent performance, and I would have taken a draw before we kicked off. Big plus getting a clean sheet, and Adkins seems to be finally getting the defence organised. Sounds if Tomori has come on well, and seems to be a much better all round defender that Aina. Stewart sounded as if he had a much better game that at Leeds. Good to hear Dicko is playing well, just needs to get more support up there with him.

All in all not a bad result, though Fulham winning at Cardiff means they will be on a high come the weekend, another tough game by the sounds of it.

Tomori and Aina have both improved john. Aina seems better on the left, which is weird. But both make school boy errors still. Pity we're just training them for Chelsea.

More how bad are the bottom 10 in the Premiership and the top 24 in the Championship... its the way football has gone unfortunately.. and I did mean to type top 24...

It's because everyone is all about playing defensively now, keeping everyone back and tight in their position and hoping to score goals more from a bit of luck rather than imposing themselves on the other team and attacking in numbers.

Football deteriorates in just about every way with each passing year.

You not seen much of Man City, then?

One of the main frustrations is we do well to get the ball back the we just give it straight back. What’s wrong with putting your foot on the ball and passing to one of our players?

I'm back at work this morning, just having a crafty tea break, well I have been here for 48 minutes......

Whilst Adkins has tightened us up at the back unquestionably, this has had a knock on effect with our attacking freedom.
That's three games without getting on the score sheet now.

From a pure entertainment point of view, Slutskys gun ho approach was more entertaining, with 2-3 losses rather than 0-1 losses.

I just can't see where the goals are going to come from to keep us out of trouble, unless Hernandez comes back with a bang.

I'm not sure Adkins can be at fault for our players missing some of the clear cut chances yesterday. Maybe some finishing work on the training ground is due.

We should have won that game by a couple of goals to nil.

Bowen not playing is a big factor. However for once hopefully we have a manager who’s knows when to take players out. Bowen has come back stupidly quickly from his injury, Adkins realises that and for the good of his health in the future he’s giving him a bit more time.

I would have took a point before the game against an in form, very experienced Derby team, and now feel disappointed not to have took all 3 points, some golden chances went begging and how Hector misses that tap in, easier to score than miss? They looked nothing special, or we made them look ordinary. But let's not forget, they caught us cold within the first 30 seconds, cutting through us and if it wasn't for Greegsy making the save, could have been a different story.

Adkins has definitely made a difference, we look more competitive, and combative pressing & chasing down. In particular in the last 10 mins he was leading from the side, directing and pushing them on, something lacking from Slutsky.

What was very pleasing from my point of view yesterday, is that we now appear to have a midfield thought they were brilliant yesterday second half i had to search to see if Huddlestone was still on the pitch, never gave Derby a moment's rest, my only criticism is that we do tend to huff the ball a bit too much, there were times yesterday when there was time to bring the ball down and pass, but instead it was launched straight back up field all in all a much better performance, plus it shut the away support up.

I hope we do some work on our set pieces , how many times do corners and free kicks just sail miles over everybody and out of play

Overall though we made Derby look very ordinary and should have won by taking our chances

Well top 6 is a write-off now. So you have to ask the questions:

1) Do the Allams care if the club get relegated?

1a) If yes, do they think Nigel can turn things around with minimal/no acquisitions?

1b) As per 1a), but can he do it after also selling Grosicki and Bowen?

2) Are the Allams interested in getting promoted next season and therefore letting Nigel start assembling a squad now, so that he can build some foundations and encourage others to sign in the summer?

Based on a "third party" taking over the running next season, I'd say that 2) is unlikely.

So I think it comes down to 1).

I suspect that the only thing that the present guardians are concerned with is recouping all or more of any outlay made.
