And people said this team was absolute **** etc etc. Murdered them nil nil. Toral you absolute ****ing ****. It's not a training game. You don't casually curl it in a its only training let's see if I can get it in the top corner outline. You smash that in. The goalie doesn't move and we're winning. Twat. And as for Dickos attempted back heel... Hectors learning or been coached properly now and knows what's expected. Frustrating but we were far the better team
That was a very decent point and performance, given all that Adkins has stacked against him (not least being without our 2 first choice strikers).
Very frustrating, should have won by at least a couple of goals. Definitely playing much better and with more confidence. Have not read all the thread so not sure if the question has been asked but why is Bowen not playing from the off seeing as he is our top scorer?
Torel should have buried that chance and hopefully NA will give him a mouthful? Put your f’king laces through the f’ker!
Well tommy was setting the tempo... Did you see hudds shot late on?? What a wasted talent he is. He ran up and hits it with zero confidence for hitting the target.
I thought we played bloody well especially in the second half. Some decent performances. McGregor mom for me. Dawson rock solid. Hector he was Derby's best player. How we didn't win that game I don't know. Enjoyed it though.
Good point, got the impression that Derby thought all they had to do to get the 3 points was turn up, as the game wore on you could see Derby panicking , a draw but a moral victory also, but do agree apart from Wolves the league isn't. brilliant
Nigel Adkins feels the Tigers have another positive performance to build on following the 0-0 draw with Derby County on Boxing Day. Here’s what the Head Coach had to say after the game: On whether he felt it was a good point for his side... “We always want to go and win the game and we had the opportunities to do that today. The big positive was the clean sheet because that is something that we have been looking to address. Is it a positive point? Yes it is. Did we create chances? Yes we did and on another day they might go into the net. We’ll take the point and it’s another one on the board. It’s another performance to build on.” On whether his side should have won the game based on the balance of play and chances... “We had good opportunities to win it. Our second half performance was good again. We passed the ball brightly, we were the dominant force and in the ascendency. The chance for Michael Hector goes just wide of the post and the one for Jon Toral came after some great interplay in and around the area. You’d maybe expect him to put it in the back of the net but unfortunately it went over the crossbar. “The positive was the clean sheet because we haven’t had one of those for a while and it’s come against a very good Derby side that had been scoring goals for fun. We looked the better side and there was a great atmosphere in the second half with our supporters really getting behind the players. It’s a shame that we couldn’t get the win, but we looked like the more likely side to get it.” On the pleasing levels of fitness shown by his players... “It was pleasing. The biggest thing is that we’ve been working on our defensive shape and being compact. From that compact shape we can go and press the opposition, rather than us being strung out across the field it makes it a little more challenging for the other side. We have to work as a team and we did that again. The players showed a great attitude and it’s a positive move forward towards where we’re trying to get to. “The Achilles heel this season has been the amount of goals conceded and we look as though we’re addressing that at the moment, and we haven’t looked like conceding late goals which is something we had to work on. “We’re creating chances at the other end but we want to put them in the back of the net. I know Jarrod Bowen has scored a lot of our goals this season and it was good to get him back on the pitch for another half-an-hour today after his injury. He’ll come into my mind to start against Fulham at the weekend now.” On what he has said and done to improve things defensively... “From the day we came into the Club, we have worked on a basic defensive shape. It’s something we’re working on every day and you have to do it as a team, you can’t do it as individuals. You have to buy into being part of the team. Players are taking information on board, on the training field and during games.” On knocks picked up by Jon Toral and Kamil Grosicki... “Jon came in at half time with two horrendous stud marks down his leg and we didn’t think he’d go back out for the second half, but credit to him because he did. We know he had a bad hamstring injury not so long back as well, so we’re conscious of where his load is. “Kamil looked as though he twisted his ankle towards the end, although I haven’t had the full run-down on that yet. It could be a worry, but we’ll have to wait and see. We have fantastic medical people here, so we know that the care and treatment he gets will be right to try and get him back as soon as possible.” On whether any players are likely to return from injury for Saturday’s home game against Fulham... “Fraizer Campbell and Evandro were on the training ground this morning doing some work, so we’ll see how they progress through the week but it’s a step closer to them joining in with training. Whether they’ll be available for the Fulham game, we’ll have to wait and see.”
More how bad are the bottom 10 in the Premiership and the top 24 in the Championship... its the way football has gone unfortunately.. and I did mean to type top 24...
