Apparently we've put in a bid for Pereira. Any deal is of course a long way off but does anyone know much about him, where he would fit in our side etc??

Does this also spell the end of the Modric pursuit? With Mata almost in the bag and now a bid going in for another midfielder maybe we are turning to other targets.

Moutinho would seem a better option though from the Porto lot.

Im pretty sure that he is a very similar player to zhirkov but better... He played very well at the world cup and obviously AVB knows him well and believes he can fit into our side... I dont tink that its the end of our modric pursuit.... I think we will get all 3 of them! It is gunna be an exciting last week of the transfer window :)

Unless I'm missing something...do we really need another left sided midfielder with Malouda and Mata (plus kalou, kakuta etc who can play there too), unless he plans to deploy malouda in more of a central role in midfield??

He's a class act but I don't think we need him. It'll be insurance for Cole and he may even play left wing sometimes. Definitely not a signal for the end of the Modric persuit

Looks like this may be all but done and dusted, been left out of the super cup squad for the match against Barcelona tomorrow. Malouda looks to be leaving with Juve a possible destination. Modric will sign on deadline day, latest offer being reported as 30m + Benayoun plus Sturrdge on loan. Not feasible from my point of view would rather offer Kalou or sell Kalou and add couple mill to the deal. Alex may be on his way too and Juve again being linked with a 7m pound deal with Portos Rolando for 18m replacing him. Van Der Wiel has also been linked but i think we could do without him for now and hopefully wrap up De Bruyne and loan him back to Genk.

    Squad possible for 2011-12

    GK: Cech, Hilario, Turnbull
    FB: Bosingwa, Cole, Alvaro
    CB: Luiz, JT, Rolando, Ivanovic
    CDM: Ramires, Mikel, Romeu
    CAM: Modric, Lampard, Mceachran
WM: Sturridge, Mata, Kalou or Malouda
    ST: Torres, Drogba, Lukaku

22 players there with cover all around the pitch and 6 homegrown and 2 under 21 players leaving room for 3 foreign players available to add in

Decent squad, more width, pace and creativity

Nice but i really only expect 1 more deal plus maybe De Bruyne (loaned back) tops. Can't see Modric happening.

Your squad also misses at least Essien and Anelka and couple of the youngsters (bertrand, kakuta, van arnholt??)

I really think that the money that's alleged to have been bid for Pereira would be much better invested elsewhere in the team. We are a lobsided team as it is without bringing in yet another left sided player. Unless AVB sees him as a direct replacement for Malouda I can't see the point buying someone to play left back when we have Bertrand and PVA who I think are both pretty good back players for Cole. Bertrand will have to start getting more games or he could be the next young player to leave.

Everybody can see that we need a top central midfielder and if we aren't going to get Modric we need a seriously good plan B.

Anelka would be sold and the 3 youngsters could be added filling all but one spot which would be held for Essiens return, I think all of our supporters are split on whether Modric will sign but we shall see wednesday evening if he has came or not, Spurs love their deadline day deals but I will salute Levy for sticking to his guns for once if Modric stays despite it affecting Chelsea(would be at OT by now if they were the team involved)
