As I have said before , I have sort of fallen out of love with football , but although we finished 8th , that was with 15 points less than the season before . He came across as so dour . There are / were rumours that 1 o 2 senior players didn't like him , once that happened ( if true ) he was always going to struggle IMHO . Still , he's the one who is laughing now . No way can the board not be blamed in some ways . January / keeping or letting MP2 go will be interesting .... IF ( and I am sure we will ) we sell VVD , what will happen to the money .....
Could be Palace's style. They set up to counter and it worked well. That's normally your way of doing things. Can't see any of the sides that you're up against next doing the same.
It's just the way the prem is tbh. Most teams (City and United exculded) are capable of winning and losing to any other team particularly if you start badly.
They might not counter but Mane, Coutinho, Salah up against our defence will be scary! Fair play to palace though, perfect away performance, our goal rightly ruled out, correct decision re Ndidi though o was confused about his first booking as the foul was Simpson? Maybe dissent. And as I said, I thought Maguire should have gone as well and the pen not given on Benteke. We are lucky it wasn’t more
That’s what’s suited us well recently staring well (in terms of early goals at least). The minute they go ahead today it set the tone
Agreed...was surprised to see your lot being so passive at home...was expecting a a much better performance. Wasn't surprised by palace playing well as they have been improving but thought you'd have been more in their faces. Mahrez and Vardy were very quite.
I think the players went in expecting it to be a walkover tbh. Disappointed in them. I look at Palace’s side and wonder why they are even down there with that squad. Ah well, as I said, I’m sure we can get 14 more points together from somewhere!
They tried to go from Allardyce to Ajax in the space of a summer. They suit counter-attacking. They don't suit open, expansive, expressive football. Get it forward quickly, go direct or wide to their dangerous wingers and get the ball in the box. Stay tight at the back. High line and lots of possession with slow buildup play? Not so much.
[/QUOTE] True, sounds a bit like us. I like that we are trying to play more and we have been scoring a lot (until today) and quality goals. But today we may have been better facing Palace up at what we’ve been good at in the past. We were far too weak, second best to everything. They just wanted it more, very frustrating to watch as a supporter
took a few games for Hodgson to start getting palace to play how he wants, a decent manager who only failed with teams with a big time charlie attitude (LFC and England)
I have often found myself shaking my head at Leicester's tendency to dive, Bro. At last, it seems that the FA is on their case.
About time really. If they'd picked up on it earlier I doubt they'd have ever won the PL. A tainted title some might say.
To be honest it hasn't been great, this game. We haven't had to raise our voices at all, it's a dull atmosphere at Stamford Bridge today. (BBC Football Live commentary) It's time for Abramovic to pipe the fake crowd noises into the stadium to remind the plastics how to cheer.
I didn't want to say it, as certain posters would label me bitter, which I'm not. But we all know it's what everyone is thinking.
Sacking Ranieri so quickly took the gloss off it anyway... now with this diving bollocks it is a fair assessment to say it's tainted.
