I'm not the biggest Bowie fan but I'm off to the Indigo Room at the 02 in Greenwich tomorrow to see a tribute act with a mate who is and he tells me that they are very good......so a couple of personal preferences.....

Off the "Scared To Dance" album and a staple of their live shows.
Too young to have seen them live - although I did see the late Stuart Adamson with Big Country.
One of the best UK punk/new wave bands<ok>

They were a headliner at Rebellion this summer and almost tempted me to attend but we went to the Madrid game instead. This is great

I saw Big Country too, but they were supporting The Jam on their final tour so we didn't pay much attention - at the time I recall saying I guess this lot are Scots first band that I have heard to play guitars that sound like bag pipes!

To celebrate how, on this day in 1863, Keith Richards was caved out of granite

I saw them supporting Bowie at Wembley stadium. Mid 1980s, I guess. I enjoyed them. The songs In a Big Country and Look Away were excellent.

Unbelievably its 15 years ago today that we lost Joe Strummer, most of his good stuff can be found scattered throughout this thread
