So we have great strikers then, better than most if they have so little to feed on?

Not sure about most attackingest but, they could do like Leicester did and take advantage of other teams failings.

I think Spurs were the best team to watch over the last couple of seasons but that doesn't bring trophies i.e. Arsenal!
.....and in Leicester's PL winning season they parkedquite a lot with several of their players taking lumps out of you, whilst parking the bus(!) and scoring the odd winning goal.
Leicester played such entertaining football they sacked the manager the next season!

Sven, you are right, my memory isn't what it used to be, I hope it's not a pre-cursor to Alzheimer's or something similar, I'd have to get a plane to South America and burn-out rather than fade-away, That is my one fear. I can live with being shot at, regular food poisoning, malaria and whatever else Africa throws at me, but lying in a bed, needing someone else to wipe my Arsenal and not knowing who I am, is not for me. The kids might miss me but at least they'd remember me as the nutter that I am, and not a vegetated looney.

Unfortunately, the IT police here have banned YouTube because of the band width that it uses, but I'm back in the UK for 5 days next Thursday so I will have a chance to look at your post then, I'm looking forward to it.

There are definitely similarities between the two in that Dyche has drilled them to play in a way that half the league aren't good enough to beat and the other half don't enjoy doing what's necessary to beat.

Where I think they'll ultimately struggle is in the final third as they rarely score more than 1 or 2 so a couple of injuries or poor performances and it could unravel.

But Dyche deserves enormous credit for what he's doing there.

The part where you pretend the majority of those goals came in the first few weeks of the season against cannon fodder such as Palace and West Scam, and since then the goals have dried up - especially from the bloke you paid £75m for in the summer to, you know, score goals.
All because he wouldn't let them have chicken burgers and potato wedges for lunch.

Yes, really, that's the reason Danny Simpson gave for the players knifing Ranieri.

Unless you count the last 2 weeks (well actually your 5 goals against stoke) United have outscored Spurs the entire period before that if you do a count back from 3 weeks ago back to 10 weeks. Odd that the most attacking team in the world with the 200 billion pound striker can't outscore the 75m carthorse who hasn't bagged any goals in ages

Man Utd league goals in August 10
Tottenham league goals in August 4

Man Utd league goals in September 11
Tottenham league goals in September 11

Man Utd league goals in October 4
Tottenham league goals in October 5

Man Utd league goals in November 9
Tottenham league goals in November 3

Man Utd league goals so far in December 4
Tottenham league goals so far in December 6

Here are the two conclusions that can be drawn from that data
i.) Man Utd scored 21 of their 38 league goals against cannon fodder in August/September, which is exactly what I said
ii.) Spurs scored as many goals as Man Utd in September and more than they did in October (and, so far, more than they have in December), which is the exact opposite of what you said

So now from the first few weeks the goal posts shifted to first 2 months?

Anyway i said a look back at the weeks, this is the cumulative goals since "United shut up shop"

    upload_2017-12-13_12-47-43.png

So a countback, United have been outscoring you since they decided to park the bus and that includes your 5-1 thrashing of stoke.

Also you haven't even mentioned that United way outscored you guys in November

Once again you're ignoring the fact that for the first few weeks of the season (because mid-August to late September is a few weeks) most of their opposition were defensive basket cases such as Palace, West Scam, Everton and Swansea - and by complete coincidence that's where the majority of their league goals were scored this season. If you're going to ignore data that's right in front of you as it doesn't fit your argument, at least have the courtesy to promise £350m a week to the NHS while you're doing it.

On the subject of data you're ignoring because it doesn't fit your argument, you did read the parts where Spurs scored as many or even scored more than they did at various points in the season, right?

    Absolutely he does.

In fact there was even a discussion on TalkShite last night whether he was the best pound for pound manager in the Prem. A very valid argument I might add, and a very suitable subject for a discussion.

However I don't recall ever having heard a similar discussion on that station about how well Poch has done on a fraction of the budget of their favourites - our recent net spend is ridiculously small. Nor have I heard, particularly in the light of their creaming it up over the wonders of Citeh, the idea that such performances could perhaps be a reasonable expectation based on their budget, nor even criticism of their massive underachievement when they don't win the league.
