Looking for recommendations for a good Rum. I usually get a bottle of Diplomatico in for Christmas, but fancy something different this year. There were a few suggestions on another thread, but I can't remember where it was. I think somebody suggested Don Papa.

Anyway, give me your best recommendations for a nice drop, it needn't necessarily be Rum.

Personal preferences are spirits that are smooth with a nice bite. Don't like peat smoked whiskeys, and not keen on overly sweet spiced drinks either.

I've got a bottle of Zacapa indoors, cheapest will cost you about £50, not over impressed with it for the price, might be worth you spending an extra 40-50 notes and telling me what the cheapest bottle of XO is like ;)

Yeah, that's the one <laugh>

A few more crops and I'm gunna make Mick an offer for this site. You do alright, your job is safe <ok>

Didn't know you were a smoker?

I'm a mad bastard, only thing i don't do is gamble, first hand experience of witnessing addiction, mugs game, but that's just my opinion. I know the same can be said about smoking and drinking, but to me betting is the biggest financial destroyer.

Yeah, I need to chill out with that. I was betting £100 a race like Billy big bollocks, last ****ing Tuesday on no mark horses <doh>

I understand the sport, I can look at a race and see which horses are weighted right and well handicapped, but doing it on a **** card like that is just plain stupid. I've always had a problem with spending, it goes hand in hand with being bipolar, which is why I'm constantly turning money over to keep me going. I've got my eye on another house at the moment, if I get it for the price I'm hoping for, I'll make a quick 12k -18k in about 4 months. That'll be from buying to selling.

Your opinion is right though, it's a mugs game and you'll never see a poor bookie.

I thought it was really nice (Zacapa) but it was the first expensive one I had tried.
