    You are having a giraffe!!
Seven months at the club, during which the only thing he did, from what I can see, was say "promotion" three times at an AGM...and he gets 712k pay-off! <doh>
That nets out at over £100k per month of 'service' <wah>
Small wonder our transfer kitty is empty <grr>
We could have bought another Tom Trybull, or equivalent, for that outlay. Pathetic.

He wouldn't even talk to the press or do interviews apart from that scripted North Korea style one .
    Absolute joke.

I don't see any 'at least', as in mitigating circumstances for our board had anything to do with it.
What about the naivety and stupidity of engaging him in the first place?
Anyone connected even remotely with Wolves could have told them it was a totally dumb arse and incorrect appointment and so it proved - in a very short (and frickin' expensive) time. <doh>

Jacob has been selected as NUFC player of the month for November, after only coming into the team as a replacement for an injured player. He got over 60% of the fans vote.

Good on im. Only hope his brother pulls his socks up and similarly starts to fullfil some of that potential.

How does he "quit his job" then get a payout!?

    He was sacked, Obviously.

7 months after he was appointed as "our future".

and I still say well done to the board for pulling the trigger, he was at Wolves for a number of years so how would the board know he was not very good?

Well done Delia and Mike <cheers>

Sorry, but the point remains - had there been any sort of 'due diligence' checks with his previous employers, fans, local media, etc, they'd have known that the whole thing was on thin ice from day one.
The board are guilty, ffs, so why try and portray them as innocent in Moxeygate?

edit - just scroll down & read some of the messages to NCFC from Wolves when he arrived <doh>

Everyone agrees that McNally was our best ever CE yet we were relegated under his tenure even though it was "worse than death!" So does that make him bad at his job?

If you try and say it was the board's fault, how do you know it was not the same at Wolves? Listening to fans' reactions is a foolish road to trod! <ok>

In truth, I don't give two hoots how Wolves run their ship - but I do care about ours.
Just because JM had a long stint at WWFC on his C.V. does not make him a good CEO - his repeated failings in each transfer window should have rung alarm bells - especially as cash strapped Norwich needed somebody really astute & proven in transfer dealings!
But if you choose to insist on portraying Saint Delia as walking on water and above reproach for any of her questionable (at times) dealings, then that's up to you.
Forgive me for not joining in all your (misplaced, imo) adulation <ok>

Too right, Sean Dyche is doing a magnificent job.
Just heard (Burnley fan) radio 5 presenter Tony Livesey interviewed &
he pointed out that there are fewer people living in Burnley (73,021)
than it takes to fill Old Trafford (75,635) - just for some perspective of their achievement to date.
Plus the average wage for their players is circa £18k a week - many top PL players earn £18k per day! <yikes>

I think the truth is somewhere inbetween. dave is right and wrong about it being foolish to judge an available candidate by listening to fans. If you ignore the fans and their opinions you can lead yourself to an inevitable backlash. It is also churlish to dismiss any experience or feedback about a candidate who you are about to pay a kings ransom. The fans opinion is just not top of the list for assessment criteria.
Plenty of employers now for much lesser jobs will look at a candidates online profile, so at the very least they should have looked at what Wolves fans have said so they could be forarmed with interview questions. (Maybe they did?)
Whether or not he did a good job at Wolves is up for debate, but Wolves did not see fit to sack him for many years so at the very least you would expect an experienced and competent man. However, clearly we were not fully dilligent in our approach of hiring him, very quickly it became clear he was the wrong man for Delia and Michael. Why did they not forsee some of the problems? Perhaps because they are generally useless? As I recall, at the time it was said that they knew and respected Moxey from before the appointment, so I think they let the buddy bit get in the way of actually thinking whether he was the person they wanted to work with, could work with and might take City where they wanted to go. To play devils advocate, an experienced candidate like Moxey may interview very well and then once in the role the awful truth must have come out. Might someone else have seen through his interview? We don't know. But we do know hiring him was a mistake, so good interview or not, it cannot be anything other than a costly mistake.
Moxey was no different to any other chairman, some transfers were good, others bad without looking I doubt his decision making on this was any worse than most.
With respect to McNally, Between him and Bowkett, I believe we had the best team running City. Were they perfect? Of course not, but that doesn't change that it was a predominantly successful stint with the club generally on an upward trejectory. They were a gamble at the time, Moxey was much more of a known quantity and as such, I would think D & M should have known that perhaps he was wrong for them.

    Bah!

It is excedingly impressive, in many ways as impressive as Leicesters title win, given their even compared to Leicester frugal budget. but them finishing 4th (Still unlikely) won't quite be remembered as long, a title, an unlikely one at that will always trump a 4th.

You'd say he should be a shoe in for manager of the season, but if Citeh continue as they are and win by 20 odd points and even perhaps undefeated then maybe PG will have earned it even with his limitless resources.

    Bah!
