About a foot here too in New Brunswick, but has stopped - with three rather tasty football matches scheduled today, it could be a while before I get to clean the driveway, curtailing my wife's shopping activities, which is sometimes not a bad thing with a "shop 'til you drop" personality, especially this time of year. With all the local updates posted here, we could give The Weather Network a run for it's money.
I like that "here today, gone tomorrow" approach - with an upcoming cold weather forecast here, snow will stick around and more coming Tuesday.
Just to prove my credentials as "stupid enough to support QPR" we did not go yesterday but went to a music festival in Mansfield. We slept in the van o/n....yes it was freezing..we got up at 5am to beat the snow....The forecast said it would start north Midlands at 8am..... 9.5 hrs later we are home...M1 impassable north of Birmingham, M40 impassable Warwick to Oxford. It seems to be heaviest around Warwickshire and Bucks... Yes it was stupid.... Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
London Ontario cannot compete with Kilburn's location for snow (I once lived in that area so I do know) but this London is in a snow belt by Ontario standards - and it sound like you folks are getting our weather this weekend.anyway. We are forecast for 2 -4 inches but thus we have had only a dusting.
Have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed today free from the expectation that we had to ‘do’ something. So the tree is being decorated, the roast going in and a bottle of Cremant being sipped before the red with the meat. Lots of nice sounds of kids playing in the street, dog still thoroughly confused but enjoying digging trapped tennis balls (his precious treasures) out of the snow in the garden, and the house lovely and snug. Thank **** we got the boiler replaced. I expect carnage tomorrow if this freezes overnight though. The two steps leading up to my front door are a death trap, I have to keep a bucket of salt in a handy cupboard and then remember to use it. All schools in Warwickshire already closed....except my daughter’s, to her immense fury.
Daughter’s school has followed the crowd and shut for tomorrow. So I’ve told her that I have plenty of jobs for her to do around the house and will spend the rest of the bottle of Bordeaux dreaming them up. She’s already in a bad mood because she couldn’t get a friends ID last night (she’s 18 in February) and was home by 10.30 instead of in a nightclub until the small hours, drinking Malibu.
All safe today? It’s very cold here and the roads are quiet, but the threatened ice does not seem to have appeared, which is good. Though it’s forecast to be epically cold overnight, down to -9C.
It's not too bad today, but, as you say, it will be a complete nightmare tomorrow morning after such a cold night tonight. Won't get much above freezing all day tomorrow too. The roads will be absolute carnage! Thankfully looking to get a bit milder after that.
No sign of snow here. 23 balmy degrees but a light breeze means long sleeves tonight I'm not missing black ice on the M1 at all
