Man City's current points total after 16 games would have secured them 8th place at the end of last season. They've got this wrapped up and the writing was on the wall when they completely outclassed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the end of September. Mourinho's style of play just won't cut it long term at Old Traffiord. Looks like the bottom of the table will be where the interest will be in April with 8 points currently seperating the bottom club and a top half finish.

i was at the game and Lukaku put in the worst performance from a striker i've seen in years. Abysmal. For someone so powerful he has absolutely no desire to win headers or snap into a challenge.

Dont ever remember lukaku being a top striker or everton might have done something like liverpool with saurez

Superstar pricetag on a decent player but then again this is a league where kyle walker costs 50m

Strangely silent outpourings of the usual crap from ex-players, pundits and commentators down south who, last year, were pronouncing "Josep Guardiola; is he all that?". Similar silence on EPL narrative of it not being a one or two team competition as in other top European leagues!

My above comments are directed mainly but not exclusively at the a-holes who contribute to 'Talksport'.

Your not going to bite that hand that feeds though are you BK. These sky commentators/pundits get paid fortunes so they have to fuel the hype. Anyone who doesn't have the burden of following one of the EPL also rans can see the reality though. I follow the mighty Imps so the EPL is just theatre for me.

Pep G taking the game to another level, for premier league standards anyhow, it' aa strange comp, a few teams fighting out the champions league spots and the riches therein, another clutch for europa, and half the league just hoping not to be relegated and the journey to obscurity and pauperism, Coventry, Portsmouth, Blackpool etc, not really a model for long term improvement, just a typical capitalist grab and run system

I just can't get in to the football like I used to...hardly watch the premiership these days..We ve got sky to thank for ruining it in my view...multi million pound contracts...obscene transfer fees, too many foreigners in the teams and the players being so pampered it's untrue. They just don't live in the real world. I watched the Manure v Man city game yesterday and all the diving..just pathetic to see. Most annoying thing is pundits saying 'he was entitled to go down' cause he was touched maybe due to leaving in a trailing leg ( cheating)..i mean its basically accepted now as good play which is a sorry state of affairs. The Manchester derby game on sky was only the 2nd game all season I have watched although was most amusing see Manure get beat.

Not too bothered about Manchester City strolling the league as this, if any club can be, is my 'favourite' EPL team due to past family history. We met a gentleman many years ago via an incident in a caravan park in Poulton- Le-Fylde where we left my uncle at 'home' while the rest of us f****d off to Blackpool, Morecambe or some other coastal town. My uncle had an accident with a bottle of Scotch and a deck chair and a couple from Rochdale assisted his removal from said appliance. Through this couple my Dad met a guy called Ernie who had links with Manchester City. Ernie used to turn up every two years with a bundle of Scotland - England tickets for the bi-annual shambles at the 'old' Hampden Park dump. This was a great treat for a twelve year old to be with his inebriated Dad and Grandad among 134, 000 other drunks from both sides of the border!. Also 'City' signed one of my favourite 'Hearts' players; Arthur Mann plus I have always had a soft spot for teams in sky blue (?).

Will have to keep my eye on Lincoln City's progress.

You make a good point. I mean with the exception of Leicester city we know only a small clutch of clubs can win the premiership as only they have the seriously obscene amount of money needed to buy the success...money money money..yawn yawn yawn!

The thing is the Man City of today bears absolutely no resemblance to that of even 20 years ago. Lincoln City are having a fine season consolidating in Division 2 (4) having spent a good while out of the League. They had a fine FA Cup run last year reaching the quarter finals before providing Arsene's much ridiculed outfit with a confidence booster. They have a pair of ex teachers (The Cowley brothers) in charge who have really turned things around which is great but will also probably lead to their departure to a more upwardly mobile club in the not too distant future. A Lincoln City tribute act from Gibraltar did make things difficult for the Scottish invincibles in the Champions League either last season or the one before.

Just another thing to look forward to on Gold Cup day then <whistle>

In all seriousness that JLT form is working out as strong as any novice chase run anywhere. The Yorkhill victims coming out since winning Graded races all over the shop, the JLT 4th winning Saturday's Tingle Creek. Must be some beast this Yorkhill. Of course the shrewdies knew he'd be winning Festival races before hed even jumped a hurdle... #neptunecertainty #jltcertainty #goldcup2018 <whistle>

Man city should walk the league, they've spent half a billion quid. Spurs on the other hand have a net spend of zero. The league is a joke unless you're a glory hunter

Glory hunter of 47 yrs and still remember the second div with trepidation, remember the top clubs wanting to keep all the gate receipts from the F.a cup as to keep the smaller not so well off clubs in there place and Spurs were one of them.

Agree that it's no longer a working class game and for to much money is involved in the game, more should be pushed down through to grass routes and the top clubs could quite easily do there bit to help.

Man u have been on Tv for 58 games in the Fa cup when the bbc could have put the smaller clubs on and generated much needed funds but sadly they need to keep the hype going instead.

Can't argue with that, but you've still managed to nick all our best player and imagine what Taggart could've done at spurs if Utd hadn't tapped him up.

They should be removing all food and beverages from the tunnel at Old Trafford. Following on from the Fabregas/Fergie pizza gate we now have Mikel's milky mayhem.
