If Citeh are at least 10 pts clear by the halfway point, then the PL IMHO is done for this season. They don't even have any CL distractions til late Feb at the earliest.
With Toby + Wanyama + Ser Davos in the starting XI, I would fancy Spurs to turn them over. Not with the current defence/DM. I hope Lamela is fully fit by then as he is the most ferocious of the Spurs MF press.
That only works if you have a well-organised and pacy back line. They have weaknesses at the back no doubt but are possibly the best team going forward in recent years. I'd say we should approach the game at the Etihad as we did the one at the Bernabeu but in all honesty City are a superior attacking side to Real. With our defence as depleted as it is, I agree: we should go full-Ardiles on them.
I don't think any sane Utd fans thought that we were good enough to challenge for the title. Yet we have been the only team so far who have looked remotely capable of challenging City. I'm hoping there might be some unlikely outcome. There are still 22 games left - things can happen. There might be an outbreak of the plague in east Manchester.
His tactics from the get-go really pissed me off. He doesn't show enough ambition in games like this. Away from home, I can understand it to an extent, but at home and in a massive derby, there's no excuses for that. In the end, they were outclassed and out-thought by a formidable City team.
You are right there you are with attacking riches, playing at home and you play like you are a mid table team who can only hope to snatch a draw. Pathetic. It could have been an amazing game if United had gone after them.
If Pochettino had as squad extras a fraction of what Jose has at his disposal, Spurs would be doing a better job then he has of handling Citeh, even with our Wembley busparquet grief.
From the BBC: Jose Mourinho's first comment in his first interview: "We should have a clear penalty..." I'm shocked. Stunned, I tell you. Which incident did he think was a penalty? I'll guess at the Herrera dive.
I think that they just like to give the media something else to talk about. Plenty of journalists love to run with the crap that they come up with, rather than discussing performances and tactics.
Arsenal and Liverpool still can't defend. Chelsea won the league on the back of having no European football. Now they're doing so, it's taking its toll. Spurs at Wembley was always going to be tough. Throw in a significant amount of injuries on a small number of senior pro's and we're struggling to keep up. United should be competing with Citeh on money spent but I can't see that their players and Mourinho's use of them is going to do that this season or during his reign. For me, he leaves Manchester without having won a title.
United fans will not put up with negative tactics unless they win the league. Mourinho is not going to change his spots so it is a matter of time before he goes. He could go almost anywhere with his tactics in the PL except Liverpool Spurs and United so PSG it will have to be.
That's a decent weekend for us. The goons late equaliser was annoying (but expected), but they dropped points and with points dropped home for the mousers and Utd added to The Chavs defeat yesterday makes for best weekend if have had since we beat 'Pool. Need another win on Wednesday to build on so that we go to the Etihad in good heart. I see 6 wins for the top 6 midweek and next weekend it will be imperative that we end Cities run of wins as looking at those matches theres unlikely to be alot of points being dropped except in our match and City can afford to drop them we can't
I didn't think City were all that....I think United were clueless, no genuine creativity. This game was Edison's face away from being a draw.
