I think it’s clear to see that he will develop into a top midfielder. You’re scoffing at a player that Juventus want? Surely we want to keep these players and add to the team.
I'm saying he's got a lot of faults that a game v spartak can't cover. Can is not a no 6 either. he's got a lot of different attributes but moving the ball quickly is not one of them. Can is ponderous turning, he loves a run wit hthe ball rather than keep the ball moving passing. these are just facts Just like wijnaldum is a guy who seems to like to take 5 touches statically in midfield, holding the ball and turning every direction but then passing is square. or like henderson who wants to chase off like a big dog after the ball ignoring his duties or blindly hoofing balls into the box
That is true - but all I’m saying is that this guy is good enough to be starting for a top 4 team. He has ability and the mentality to play for a big club, as well as potential to develop. It was telling how against Brighton, he was the one who organised the back line and not the actual CB next to him.
which top 4 side? not city. not utd, not cheslea. who do you think at those drop out... spurs? Ok debate arsenal and thats fine... but thats the reality. I would agree on mentality for big big club but theres mentality and then there is ability. BTW... birghton, spartak... yeah... not great measurement stick there. Thats not his fault. Klopps given him those games.
I was thinking Can was our worst player last night when he pops up with an assist for Mané's goal. He plays like his heart's not in it. Not bothered if he goes.
He was instrumental in getting us to the EL final as well as dragging us over the line at the end of last season. I do agree that he lacks consistency but on form, he’s a bloody good midfielder.
I think he'll do well in the Italian league, slow tactical football. The truth though he's not good enough for us nor any of the actual top 5 PL team, the guy can't even get picked ahead of our sideways passing Gerard wannabe.
The one that always surprised me was Mane, just never really noticed him at Southampton tbh. Salah I think we all followed and saw the stats and he has just gone up a level and Coutinho I think we have fully developed him
nope. none of them are his ideas. 1. mane. klopp picked him on the game v them that he cut us up second half 2. Salah. edwards actually told the club he wasn't worth 11mil... like... 3. coutinho. rafa time scouting and decision by comolli 4. Firmino.... i'm bored now but i'm sure edwards had a big say with his spreadsheet.
utd wanted him the year before but he got injured or something. his level dropped a bit and we snapped him up.
Newcastle want to sign Danny Ings in January, writes @Scottwilsonecho Klopp is keen to loan Ings out in order to give him some first-team football and potentially put him in the shop window for a permanent sale in the summer. (Northern Echo)
Klopp had scouted Mane when he was gaffer at Dortmund. It was only natural for him to go back in for him. Salah - I assume you mean when he went to Chelsea? If so, not worth mentioning as he's a totally different player now. Coutinho - Been here a while and you're right. Firmino - Probably right there too.
GIven edwards told the "committee" that he was not worth 11 and we bargained for 2 months for 8 or 9 mil that says someone else wanted him at that point. I doubt at any time edwards was in Klopp's ear on about we must sign salah here. I think klopp and scouts picked it out. I think someone picked and bought robertson for sure.... and the way klopp's handed it you would wonder but this time edwards is squarely in the position of responsibility so he too had to sign off on this one. Now..... robertson hasn't done much wrong in the brief games he's got but we don't see whats going on in training.
Liverpool CEO Peter Moore says the club are looking "very closely" at expanding the Anfield Road stand. (@LivEchoLFC)
Firmino definitely wasn’t. The Echo even said that Rodgers only let us sign Firmino if he could benteke as wel.
