Thought I’d chuck a thread up.

I know that many feel detached from the England team, but I for one can’t ever get enough of tournament football.

Going into this one with the best squad since ‘98, but lowered expectation so it should hopefully be less frustrating and maybe enjoyable.

Just been looking at the stadiums, and fair play they’ve done a smashing job them Ruskies.

Anyone care, interested? Thoughts and hopes? Anyone brave enough to be going over?

I can’t look past France and think that we should be looking at quarters, and even better for the following Euros given the performance of the young lions teams.

I've enjoyed these tournaments much more since I became a neutral.

I could never be neutral like, even if I do get where people are sometimes.

I’ve no Italy to fall back on this time so I’m just hoping we do a good job, I’ve concerns about the way Southgate sets us up I just wish we had a Venables or Hoddle type, despite admitting he’s doing a solid job.

We should be better with what we have, France look utterly flawless I’ve backed them already.

France look the boys now, you could pick three separate french teams that would have a shot there's that much talent at their disposal, it really is scary their options for ever single position. How do you pick a squad from a pool like that?

I agree they are flawless, like you say the second in line is no weaker.

Germany obviously a threat and first time in years they have a top, top striker in Werner. Spain are very strong again after a few years back down and Belgium have talent everywhere.

I don’t fancy a non-European to win it at all this time, Brazil are very good but I don’t think they’ve and midfielders that would scare France and Germany.

Big deal for us, in my opinion, is if Wilshere could stay fit and get form, he’d finish off the midfield give it that bit of creativity.

We are strong everywhere but we haven’t got the magic of a Kroos, Modric type, a great passer who can turn a game instantly.

I still worry that Hart is favoured over Pickford or Butland as well.

Let's hope it does not turn out like the rehearsal

Loved that draw. Couple of great groups D & F I think. Looking forward to watching the evening games with my lad (8). I remember my first world cup of 1982 but was properly into the 1986 one.
