  1. IMO - There are no teams below the top 6 superior to us, except Everton when they're on form, but they're not.

I think we'd be markedly better than Sunderland if it wasn't for Sessegnon. He's a real attacking threat, and if he ever gets injured I think they'd struggle. Most of their advances during the derby were through him.

The dressing room disharmony thing was always exagerrated. Plus, when I hear the so-called experts talk about 'proven premier league experience' as if it's the be all and end all it makes me want to vomit.

When Arsenal scout cheap players from abroad, Wenger is a genius. When Newcastle do it, we're relegation candidates. <laugh>

Of these unknown, unproven players we have Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye (full french internationals) and Cheik Tiote (Ivory Coast international who played in all their world cup games).

Much rather that than Brucey's policy of buying anyone that had a half decent season in PL last year.

I don't expect us to go down, but I still think it will be a struggle to secure mid-table (much like last year) with us being comfortable a few games towards the end of the season.

We need a few players in this week, and if we get some quality in I think we'll be OK.

Sunderland will do alright as well. I don't get where there fans get such an air of superiority about which of us has the best team, but they've got enough decent players.

I was very impressed with him, their answer to Ben Arfa.

Sessegnon had a good game and looked their only danger. You can't judge a team from one game though... I reckon the mackems have a few potential match winners on their day (Gardner, Gyan, Larsson, Dong-won to name a few).

That said like, if you check out their squad, for the amount of money Bruce has spent, it does make you wonder what his strategy is...

    Based on last season:

36 points required to reach safety.
42 points required to match last seasons tally.
    43 points to finish 10th
44 points required to finish above Sunderland.
54 points to qualify for Europa League qualifiers
58 points for automatic Europa League qualification.
76 points for the League title

  11. There are 6 teams -

    Manure
    Citeh
    Chelski
    Bin dippers
    Arse
    Spuddingtons -

That are all superior sides to us and to every other team.

    There's

    Everton
    Fulham
    Stoke
    Sunderland
    WBA
    Villa
    Bolton

Who are grouped together with us scrapping for a top 10 finish.

    Then there's

    Wolves
    Wigan
    Blackburn
    Swansea
    QPR
    Norwich

    Who will be fighting relegation

Apart from the top 3, i can't predict where anyone will finish inside those 3 groups <ok>

    Agree 100%

Gyan looks well out of sorts, Ding Dong Wing Wong never played anywhere near europe can see him finding it hard to adapt. Wickham good prospect but not prem league qualtiy (yet)
Think they expect to be better because of the number of players brought in, but some of their signings are average or on their way out IMO.
Be a fight to see who finishes above the other but can see both teams around mid table and comfortable.
There are worse teams in this league.

Swansea to be the surprise package, good footballing team not as gung ho as Blackpool

I'd put Wolves in our group, they'll not be fighting to stay up. They way Arsenal are going can see them slipping out of the top 6. Since they lost Fabregas and possibly Nasri and never sorted their defence they don't look as dominant.

Take into account we have 4 points already so 4+36 equals 40 points... ;)

  17. Oh you mean 36 extra points.. ok ;)

I thought you meant just 36 pts :p

It would be great if we get 2 wins from our next two games, which would put us on 10 pts and that's like 1/4 of the way to safety with 34 games left :p

Right now, if I had to choose players from Newcastle and Sunderland, this would be my team:

    -------------------Krul-----------------------
    Simpson --- S Taylor --- Coloccini --- Bardsley
    --Barton --- Cabaye --- Tiote --- Jonas------
    ----------------Sessegnon-------------------
    -------------------Gyan--------------------

Trying to be as unbiased as possible, that's genuinely what I think. I mean Barton, Cabaye, Tiote, Jonas, Colo and so on. Who from Sunderland would replace them as first choice? Any mackems can help if they wish but I can't think of anyone. After seeing Mignolet's performance on the weekend, I'd have Krul definitely.

If Ben Arfa was fit, I'd have this:

    --------------------Krul-----------------------
    Simpson --- S Taylor --- Coloccini --- Bardsley
    --------Barton --- Cabaye --- Tiote ----------
    ----------Sessegnon -- Ben Arfa---------------
    -------------------Gyan--------------------

    Imagine that? Absolutely lethal.

    Mmm.. I like, I like. <ok>

Bardsley LB though? He's played there before but he's a natural RB to be honest, but neither Richardson/Raylor are natural LB's for that sake.. hopefully Pieters/Cisscoco will solve that problem soon.

  20. I'd swap Oshea for Simpson, but since Oshea isn't fit well... Simmo it has to be then. Or Raylor.
