One of the best footballers to have ever lived and imo better than Pele was.......As a manager then his record tells a story as very limited...
No they are both inept as both have proved.....Bobby charlton and other great players did not have the skill to manage a top level team, John charles was another.....You could not find greater players but they were all lower to non league managers at their best....
Whilst ML is certainly no Fergie or possibly a Rodgers or Pulis (and I'm not putting Rodgers and Pulis on the same level as Fergie - just that they've been relatively successful PL Managers), I think you are too harsh on him. The best football I've ever seen from us was the match against West Brom - that first 45 minutes were exceptional. Yes, towards the end things went pear-shaped under ML but I suspect that Huw played a large part in ML becoming "disinterested", and as I've said previously I thought the time was right to part company when he left. That said, I know who I would rather have in charge at the present time.
He is a failed manager that nobody wanted in Europe and he ended up in a mickey mouse league. He is a tax cheater and he tried to con us out of £2m which he never got......The man was the worst manager we have ever had when it came to man management. he was hated by most of the players.....Love his football career but hated his management skills......He had none....
Different positions but I have to say, for me, Pele was from another planet. Had the privilege of seeing him play in a couple of games and it as he made time stand still. Sending shivers down the spine just thinking back.
As written on a wall in Belfast: Maradonna - Good Pele - Better George - Best Personally, for me, Pele was Number One !
Pele had ten of the greatest players as his team mates, Laudrup never had that. He could carry his team to victory.....Pele was fantastic but Laudrup just edges it for me and i have been lucky to see both play....
Yet Denmark won the 1992 European Championship without Laudrup...... Read this (translated) Danish article published 3 years ago: " Today the Danish Football Association confirmed that former national team manager Richard Møller-Nielsen has passed away aged 76. Although, Møller-Nielsen won domestic trophies as a club manager, he will forever be associated with Denmark's fairytale triumph at Euro 1992 where a team without Michael Laudrup went on to beat Germany in a shock final win, despite only being included in the final tournament because of Yugoslavia's disqualification. To mark Møller-Nielsen's passing, we spoke to Danish sports journalist Jan Kjeldtoft of Ekstra Bladet who reminisced about Denmark's greatest footballing moment. "What happened was like a fairytale. It could have been written by Hans Christian Andersen and the whole nation that summer was in a state of disbelief. It changed the way Danes look upon themselves as a nation. It wasn't just about football. It was more than that," said Kjeldtoft of the achievements of Møller-Nielsen and his band of players. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and Kjeldtoft thinks Michael Laudrup's absence was a blessing in disguise. Laudrup had left the national team before the Euros because of the style of play. "We probably wouldn't have won the title with him in the team. Without any doubt, he was one of the best players in the world at that time. But the way the team played football was very much different. It was defending and counterattacking. With him among the eleven, I think we would have lost a lot of tackles and maybe we wouldn't have won. So it's a strange story because you can have the best player in the world and become the best team without him." Seems that Pele could blend his talents to work within, and for the good of the team. Anyway Dai, I respect your opinion, but for me Pele is/was the best
Yup hated by so many half the team decided to leave because they were loyal to him. Half the bad management wasn't because you had a snake in the club ready to push himself to the top position. Failed manager who is also the most successful manager at your club (is the only winner of a serious competition) speaks volumes for you Dai. Are you sure you ain't a bluebird?
Why is this super manager as you think ignored by every big club he thinks he was good enough to manage....What are you seeing that not a single big club or any other premiership club cant see.. He was an arrogant useless idiot that thought he was more important than the club and was taking us nowhere fast.....He was rightly sacked and our captain saved us from certain relegation....
Not in the relegation places. Still in three competitions Just coming out of a period when we had up to 11 first team players unavailable. Posters of us advertising the EPL in Madrid. Best football ever. Monk got us within a point or two of relegation with four games to go and was saved by Curtis.
