Harry says that "his head is not in the right place" and that "we've got to sort this out" No ****, Harry!! Apparently, Levy is away
Harry confirms, however, that Levy has made his mind up that Modric is not for sale - no matter the price. Whichever way, this is not good news, and needs to be sorted very quickly.

We really need to get rid of him now an reinvest. If what we're hearing is true and he's refusing to play it can only be bad for the team. I've felt that this saga has been our transfer logjam of the summer. We should haggle up to £35 million and sell

If he's going to do a Berbatov, then I agree. It might be that he's heard about the Mata deal - realises his chances of getting a transfer to The Chavs has gone - and now he's gone into a sulk, or a strop. Whichever way, he's not much use to us at the moment, that's for sure!

The mind boggles. 40,000 quid a month, hasn't played since May and says he doesn't want to play against Man Utd. Jeesus.

As long as he is in the squad there is a chance he will play. Could be part of some mind games by Harry (probably not but you never know).

The whole thing is really annoying. Kind of a self-fulfilling thing where Spurs and Chavski get more and more comparable in quality and our top player then wants to move to a "better club".... which isn't acutally a better club until he moves from us to them!

I think we still have a better chance against ManU than generally however, barring the usual ludicrous ref mistake. I really fancy our chances against their defence.

I would suspect that it's some mind games going on.
If it isn't Harry must be fuming that his best player isn't focussed enough to play and Levy is away (possibly tying up some transfers ).

"modric's head is not in the right place". - I think we should all remember this one for the future lads. If it applies to modric and his employer, surely we can use the same excuse for a "sicky"?

it's disgusting. we can't accept this sort of behaviour. even more baffling for me, is how chelsea are only offering 27-30mil.

have u not seen the state of the current transfer market Roman?

This is seriously unprofessional. Can Spurs not pay his wages for the week then?.

Let's not over-react yet. From what Harry seems to have said, Modric is not fully fit - I'm not keen on players being asked to play in poor condition and can see why Modric would be less keen than usual to play through pain, because if he does himself a mischief he certainly won't get a move

PowerSpurs- Harry said he was not fit for the Hearts game- nowhere has he said he is not fit for this one.
What he has said- and he probably has- Modrics' head isn't right meaning he is worried about his future heading towards Sept 1.

    From the Guardian site

Modric is not 100% match fit but Redknapp may have been prepared to gamble on him had he been sure of the midfielder's commitment. Instead, he will play no part.

"He's got a little bit of an injury," Redknapp told TalkSport. "There's a possibility he could have played through it. But at the moment his head's not in the right place."

Not for you lot, it isn't. If you read the whole article, Redknapp goes on to say that Levy has made up his mind Modric is not for sale at any price. I think, reading between the lines, that means "Not for sale to Chelsea, at any price"

I've said it before and i'll say it again, in my view Modric will leave on deadline day just like Berbatov.

Chelsea might loan us a player (Sturridge) but I don't think Luka Modric will be a Spurs player come September 1st.

Why would the Mata deal have any bearing on whether or not we pursue the transfer of Modric, and why would it affect his head?

Mata has been bought for his natural width.

I doubt it will be Sturridge to be honest, but can see someone going the other way<ok>

The Sun says 'strike', I don't believe that for a minute, thats breach of contract. Head not focused?, probably not, excuses were made for Rooney during his last shenanigans with United, so it looks a similar situation here...roll on Sept 1st!

Benayoun said something about his future being decided by Wednesday, ominously...

"Big" new signing then, is he?? He must be difficult to get past. I think you spend too much time reading The Russian Gangster's tame "newspaper," The Daily Fail.
I will stick by what I've said before. Levy is seriously pissed off with the way this whole affair has been conducted. It's entirely possible that he means exactly what he has said. "Not for sale at any price". However, in your case, I think you can read that as "Only at a ridiculous price"
