To be honest a lot of fans seem to treat having internationals in their team more as a way to play Top Trumps than anything else. Case in point, my brother in law tried to make something out of how there were several Arsenal players in the England team for the last World Cup but not a single Spurs player. My response was to point out that England were officially the worst-performing European nation of the whole tournament, so maybe it wouldn't be a good idea to bring up how many Arsenal players were responsible for this...

In fairness to Giles, apart from the hat trick he was almost invisible. If only Giles could teach him where to be to influence the game for the full ninety minutes, eh?
