I used to travel a lot within Europe before we joined the Common Market and don't see any problems after we leave.. 1 passport control to enter and that's it.

Just a personal concern that’s all
I am just as guilty as any other Brit with a blessed individual freedom and self focus
My lads have little chance of buying a house in the UK and thankfully have come to their conclusion that they don’t want one.
The UK housing market is way out of control and needs adjustment however with a massive percentage of families maxing out each month the culture has only got worse
My lads can get a great house near me in France for on average €40k and it will be a home... a place to live without a hint of investment. The sun shines, the countryside is second to none and the spirit grows

They know my model and it works and many are doing it ... live a stress free wonderful life and work for the minimum amount of time in the UK to obtain enough ... not more

I can only hope the borders are still left open or a visa passport is introduced that is my selfish wish

Bit naive of them if they're still wanting a hard Brexit in that case.

It would be a real shame if the Erasmus programme was hampered here, both for educated foreigners coming here who will contribute in their time here and possibly settle here and for British kids getting great experiences abroad. We're insular enough as it is.

    Hope you are right
I buy 2 flights minimum each month in a block approx 5 months in advance and save £700 a month if I was here full time
I want my lads to still have that opportunity
I also believe in free movement for all people on the planet

As usual, most of this rambling has very little to do with brexit.

You always seem very keen to tell us how brilliantly you've got your life sorted and that everyone else in this Country is a mug. Quite amusing really.

I want to continue doing what I am doing unrestricted without having to apply for visas etc in the possible future. My fear would be it would cost money to travel as frequently as I do

Not at all I use my own examples to try and demonstrate my point of view

I would look inwards Col as your narrow minded approach makes me laugh equally at times. You seem to have carte Blanche to rant off with your viewpoint as you see fit ... we have the same rights on here

I use this forum for exactly that no other reason. We have different opinions re brexit and in terms of the issue on this forum I find your opinions on the matter to be very naive and that imo needs challenging.

I also believe I am in a position to see and assess the differences as I get variation because of a lifestyle choice which I am very proud of because it was born of frustration that things weren’t right any longer

Now the vote is accepted I am certainly not going to let any opinion I think is wrong slip by on this forum.

Well I may have to, cross that bridge if it happens. Just voicing my genuine concern about free movement within Europe and how great it is

Why would free movement within Europe be a concern, are there plans to change it?

Free movement in the EU context means the right of EU citizens to work and live anywhere in the EU. One of the reasons some people voted for Brexit was to stop or reduce migration from the EU to the U.K. May has controlling borders as one of her ‘red lines’. I’m sure tourism will be about the same though there is a faint chance we might need ESTA type visas so overstays can be tracked. But you would imagine migrating to work or retire will be much more complicated and restricted.

You really do need to get a grip, bruv.
Were you one of the ones who worried that planes would fall out if the sky in 1st Jan 2000 ‘cos all the computers would shut down ?

Scaremongering like this does no one’s cause any good at all.

    Not that I know of
Until we all know the outcome only then can people decide their options re holding a English passport. Remember that the main driver was to take control of the UK borders in and out. I am hoping that English people will be able to join the EU and obtain a permanent EU visa ( that’s the solution talk in France currently )

Until that is made clearer only then will people I know determine whether it better to become French nationals I wouldn’t hesitate to apply as I qualify and that way I would know the extra tax I would pay would go into a better all round system albeit more.

Some posters on here get their info off the TV or even worse the internet. People should be scared

If you can point me to anywhere legitimate that says that there is a possibility of our borders being closed to the likes of you and your boys then I’d be really shocked ‘cos it’s quite possibly bollox.
People are only getting scared when they read some of the bullshit in the press about what COULD happen on Brexit.....it’s a national disgrace the crap that’s being written.
