The defence was abysmal earlier in the season but one of these breaks gave them a chance to address it. (Playing 2 DMs in front helped no end) But if your main striker is injured, your third choice is out on a season long loan - and your second, for all his commendable huff and puff and dragging defenders wide, etc couldn't hit a barn door, there'll be trouble at mill, sadly
Yeah, something has to start working for us on the ball. The best thing would be to get Nelson et al healthy. It amazes me that Josh has been playing with a broken toe.
One for you canario - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...h-or-a-someone-pivotal-to-the-fine-away-form/ I have to say that I agree with most of the article!!!!
An excellent comment on one of the MFW articles - "Delia saw an opportunity with Norwich City and took it. It extended her time in the public eye, and one could argue it was a very shrewd move on her part. The loans have been paid up and she has done very well. Who could blame her? Time has move on since the 1990’s and the days of the cosy 1950’s football are in the bin. Championship football suits the owners and when the penny drops for Webber that their austere vision doesn’t meet his own ambitions, he’ll be gone. The majority shareholders need to look at themselves in the mirror and ask the question ‘Who is actually benefitting from our continued ownership of Norwich City?’ The answer is looking back at them." Just listening to a football league podcast. Focusing on Shrewsbury Town. Ben Godfrey has been picked out by 2 of them as a real talent and a kid who looks like he’s got a real future in the game.
I saw him several times earlier this year playing for the Under 23s and I feel his future is as a DM (Tettey replacement??). Without checking, I think the Shrews are unbeaten this season and they also have Morris and Adams on loan I think.
Pretty much agree with all of that. The only other thing I'd highlight is he doesn't get injured very often and when he does it' it doesn't last very long. Make no mistakes we'd be a weaker team without him.
They just lost to Peterborough the other day I think. But are ripping it up at the moment. They didn’t mention the other 2 Norwich loans. Which was annoying.
I don't really agree with the article, I think jerome is an absolute meh! of a player, to limited to get great adulation, good enogh with the right atitude to not get too much hatred either, it is the most vocal as always who seem to be the haters, but haters always inspire some degree of response from the lovers or even loyal but moderately appreciative. jerome is no longer a player good enough for a team with aspirations of promotion in my opinion, but we can't afford an upgrade so I will continue to appreciate what he brings whilst wondering why we keep playing in a way that cannot possibly let him shine? Bah!
The article mentions a couple of lower league strikers more in the Dwight Gayle mould which I think we desperately need. With Wes, Maddison and soon to be Pritchard all preferring to operate centrally, we need a nippy striker to play on the shoulder of the last defender for the play-makers to be able to spray short passes along the floor to. We rarely get decent crosses in from wide positions and when we do Jerome has dropped so deep or run out wide himself so that there's nobody in the box to benefit from them. <firing blanks>
Just to cheer everyone up, things can always be worse!...............no not the binners, Sunderland in this instance, in the bbc gossip column, the cream are all intersted in managing them, Harry Rednapp interested or maybe Ally McCoist! Are they aiming upwards or downwards if they appoint either of them? Bah!
But I'm saying that Maddison and Wes create from around the edge of the box, not so much out by the corner flag. So we need (very badly) a striker who thrives on those sort of through balls. Unless Jarvis can get fit thereby releasing Josh to try a striker's role
From today's presser. Paddy Davitt #ncfc DF confirms will have Raggett, Morris, Godfrey et al back in Jan and make a decision nearer the time whether stay here for 2nd half (of season). Paddy Davitt Asked #ncfc DF whether fitness issues top end of pitch will force him into market Jan.
