I disagree. Cedric did enough to put Murray under pressure, and make things easy enough for the keeper.
It was his choice, nobody put a gun against his head ans told him to sign for Saints. He made a decision and he should stick with it. So he can only be pissed at himself if he's not happy with the decision he made. He didn't make too big of a fuss about not playing, but this interview was obviously a way to say to the club 'listen, I didn't sign for you to sit on the bench'. The message found it's way because he immediately started the next match. And as long as he starts we won't have a problem with him and it's really not a problem for us to put him in the starting lineuo because he's a good player, but that kind of attitude just doesn't sit well with me. I can now easily see him as someone who'll act like Virgil in a year or two.
Think you are being incredibly harsh. He wasn't close to challenging for the ball because Murray is about 10 inches taller than him. All a full back can do in that situation is jump with the striker and try and put him off, which is what Cedric did in my view. See what VVD (I think) did to Duffy/Dunk in the first half where their player headed over from a couple of yards
for me the goal was all down to wesley failing to clear the ball on the edge of the area, unlucky as his attempted clearance hit the arm of the brighton player, but he the just strolled back into the area, when he should have been sprinting back to pick up murray
I realise he is shorter and would never win that. But if he was tight to him he would have made it harder. As the cross was delivered he was around 2m away. He got closer but ideally would have been stood on his toes. Fraser should have saved it but at least 2 other players could have done better, including Cedric. Could have done better is the phrase here.
Well yeah. That's cos he's 5'2". I've been critical of Cedric in the past, but he's been one of our most improved players over the ladt year or so.
Maybe. We seemed to switch off collectively and leave them too much space in front of the back four. But we should have at least tried to kill the game off after taking the early lead, then one defensive error wouldn't have cost us 2 points.
I agree with this we should have clearly gone for the second goal and keep them under pressure. Had we done so they would have tried to attack more giving us more opportunities. I’m really not a lover of this sit back and hope kind of game we appear to be playing at the moment.
Difficult to be tighter to him on that one without giving away a pen in my humble opinion LL. As I remember it Murray was back-pedalling away from Cedric and then leaning back to get the header in. He’s basically made the call that the header from that position leaning away is a goal ~20% of the time, where giving away a penalty is a goal ~75% of the time. No blame on Cedric for me.
I dont blame Cedric, I blame his parents. Should have given him some super foods to be about 6 inches taller. Would have probably out jumped him then.
No ones cool enough to be Guly: He once won a staring contest with the sun, and apparently Bigfoot once claimed a sighting of him.
