Just been reading this article in the Guardian which I found to be quite interesting and poignant (which for the Guardian makes a change!)

My regrets are many and as we get older the decisions that we took earlier in our lives that made perfect sense at that time now seem to be madness in retrospect. I will never regret being a Town fan as it is in the fibres of my very being!

Do you have any regrets that you care to share? They could be in relationships with loved ones/family, financial, careers the list is endless.

My greatest regret is deciding to move down to Crawley mainly for work when I should have stayed in Cambridge! This is something that I am looking to rectify in the New Year.

Warky, didnt have you down as a Guardian reader! Well done and thanks for sharing. Like you, have no regrets about ITFC tho being a supporter really puts you thru the grinder!
Ok, so hands up here. Few big regrets, but one is not persuading my wife to come to counselling. Marriage broke up, all happy now, but....

Been lucky(cancer aside -and that too has had surprising benefits) and no regrets that all my jobs have been about people, passion and communities.

And Believe it or Not. Many years ago at a party up Suffolk, Emma Freud fancied the pants off me!!! Phew, escaped. No regrets there. No tweeting that around!

Biggest regret has to be that none of us on here saw the ITFC manager job vacancy before MM applied!!

They say you should only regret the things that you didn't do rather than the things that you did.

I did something really stupid a couple of years ago which nearly cost me my marriage and my kids but I managed to step back from it (or her) just in time. The horrible thing is that I regret doing it every day since then!

My Regrets are that I didn't make the most of my 3 years at University. I had a girlfriend (and a ****e one at that) for the first year so didn't put myself about when the plentiful opportunities where there.. Then once we split up, the opportunities magically dried up and I would have struggled to get laid in a brothel.

Also I didn't take my education that seriously after GCSE's and coasted my way through 6th Form and did a Uni course based on the City and not on potential career prospects and earnings. Now I'm dangerously close to 30 and in a job I'm not sure I enjoy and not earning half as much crust as mates who put at least some thought into what they were going to do as an adult

* That I didn't end a past relationship 4 months in when it was dead, and stayed with the girl for 2 years until thank god she dumped me. She may have been hot but was boring as hell and clingy. Never again! Definite upgrade now.
* That I didn't get past injuries fixed properly YEARS ago which have affected my body / way I move and quality of life a hell of a lot until now when this good chiropractor is finally making massive headway!
* Perhaps being a bit harsh with certain friendhships I had that no longer have!

Otherwise, meh!

My main regret is not pursuing a career in sports journalism and letting it drift away. I achieved a 2.1 in sports journalism at university and did freelancing for the EADT, the Bury Free Press, Diss Express, and the Newmarket Journal, however I failed to pay an additional bit of money to take NCTJ exams, which are now a further requirement.

It's not all bad, as I'm currently in a challenging job where I do corporate writing (and has lax internet at work regulations), and I also would most likely not have met my girlfriend as we met working at an old job and started seeing each other after I left.

Sounds pretty good to me, Nuggets! And the lax internet regs means you can tune in impatiently and excitedly to your fave sporting club ground-breaking news!
