I'm just waiting for the knock on the door from the rozzers, for all the women I tried to get off without putting it a request in writing first, and was "brushed off" with the appropriate response complete with industrial language on occasion.

Terry Wogan would be onto a winner seeing as he was always telling people not to touch his knee which only made sure that every guest did.

Some of these allegations are undermining the genuine serious allegations which apparently are floating about.

This is the key point for me. I was bought up to believe that, on a good day, men and women are equal. As in most post-war working class communities our mums let us know that men were vastly inferior for the most part!

I was lucky enough to work in a number of environments where women made up a majority of the work-force and had largely achieved equality. I would never belittle harassment of women (or men). I had the misfortune to work with a few slimeballs who thought groping a woman in the passenger seat of a car if she'd asked for a lift was acceptable. It is important that true men stand with women and say "hands off, you slimy git". Inappropriate behaviour and language is always out of order. But to have set the bar so low does a disservice to true victims. I'm also concerned that we are going to see a sort of populist uprising aimed at outing any silly sod who got pissed at a conference and made a clumsy pass at a workmate. This must carry a mandatory prison sentence, surely?

I've come across my fair share of slimeballs at work. All the females knew who they were and warnings were passed on whilst said slimeball thought he was God's gift. I've even known females going places in pairs just in case slimeball made a move. Slimeball reaction "I was just joking, no need to get uptight".

There are so many work romances, how will anyone have the courage to approach anyone anymore? As long as no is taken as no that should be enough. If there is persistent harassment that is a different matter entirely.

Far too many attempts to list on here. Vast majority failed of course, I might add, because women used to be able to fend me off quite easily. The one night stands in my youth where I didn't wait for them to sober up before attempting to get my end away are the more worrying ones.

Wondering if my secretary when I was an accountant might have selective memory of the months leading up to that affair where her skirts got shorter, heels got higher, blouses lower cut and the makeup more night-time appropriate. Worked though. Maybe I have a case against her!

Or maybe leave it in the memory bank as a fun 3 months of excitement.

The Washington Posts take on whether he is a fascist. A year old now and I think point 10's score could now go up a bit (although I don't think he has eaten any children!). They call him ' an amateurish imitation of the real thing.'

Whatever label you put on him, he is certainly an embarrassment to the American people. Luckily a some of his policies are being kicked out by the US courts.

luckily for him it seems that democrats have a way of shooting themselves in the foot all the time. hillary was always praising an ex head pf the KKK as one of her great mentors, the dems jumping up and down about links with Russia, now it seems that the only ones with ties to Russia were the Dems. the treatment of bernie could be the final nail in their coffin. if bernie runs as a independant in 2020, he will be the main danger to to he Reps. he would basically be ahead 150 points on election day with california, new york and florida.
60 per cent of americans are deeply against trump, even though alot of liberals like his economic policies when told they were the proposed economic policies of the dems, they just do not like trump and believe everything bad about him. hillary should have beat him hands down, but her campaign was run on dividing and playing her woman card, both of which backfired. bernie economic policies do not add up, but he would have won easily as people like free ****.

Trump, aided by his friends in the right wing media, are once again making a lot of noise about " Crooked Hilary and the Dems", this time claiming a Russian connection, but there appears to be little or no substance to it.

It's a fairly blatent attempt to divert attention from the FBI's ongoing investigation into - you've guessed it - the Trump campaign's potentially criminal collusion with a foreign power.

The Trump strategy is simple; seek to discredit everybody from the FBI to the Courts, taking a swipe at the Clintons, and hope to drown out the reality, which is that the wheels of justice, which grind exceeding slow, are trundling towards Trump.

Love Jeremy or loathe him, he has principles. That doesn't mean he is without character flaws, because he is human like everybody else, but it does make him stand out in Westminster.

The fact he's not a polished media operator is seen by many as a positive in itself.

If he was just like the rest of "them", he'd have smiled at the cameras and delivered a well rehearsed platitude (and then done nothing).

Instead, he reacted the way you or I might do if we had a camera and microphone shoved in our faces by someone asking awkward questions, when we hadn't even digested our cornflakes.

I didn't see this (sorry that is Wenger-esque!) but I have to take issue with your last statement. This is not in defence of Jeremy Corbyn. I have a deep mistrust of the man, but the idea that there is a "rest" with whom he can be compared leaves me troubled.

As a trade unionist, I worked with politicians both local and national representing all the major parties. I met some creepy self-righteous gits. I also met lots of honest people who were in politics to make a difference. There are serious systemic flaws in our system, and it is clear that for some optimism and idealism are corrupted. But the way that the media likes to portray politicians as "only in it for themselves" is both unfair on hundreds of decent men and women but it also corrodes a belief in democracy. This is dangerous.

In the city where I live, we have had both Labour and Tory MPs. We currently have a Labour guy who is good man with whom I largely agree. Until 2015 we had had a Tory with whom I enjoyed many a debate. He was a decent man with whom I disagreed fundamentally, but I never doubted his firm convictions and principles.

Recently, I heard a discussion on Radio 4 between the excellent Nick Robinson and Tony Blair. Robinson's poiltical views are well known; Blair's too. The discussion was about policy and principle, and by the end I thought that I had learned more about the issues around the topic. Compare that with the screaming style of James Naughtie et al, who simply seem intent on reinforcing a polarised view while belittling the interviewee. It is unhelpful, to say the least.

I ain't got many years left. I'd love to see British politics become the arena for debate of issues, not personal insults that create heat but very little light.

after a year of pointing the finger at trump, nothing seems to anywhere near sticking, the new teflon don. Legally collusion if proved is not a reason to impeach a president, so the Mueller investigation is clutching at straws, Mueller should resign anyway for his part in the sale of American uranium to Clintons Russian friends

I think it is dangerous, in that a lot of things that aren't sexual harrasment, are being pulled into this. The cynic in me thinks it provides an excellent opportunity for ambitious people in politics that want to move up (or even get one over on others) can bring up the slightest things whether truthful or not to aide their advance up the ladder!!

Also, how many times have we heard older men say "If I were 20/30/40 years younger" to a younger women. Quite innocently they are just being friendly. It seems at the moment as per usual there is no attempt to assess context or intent.

They ought to be dealing with the serious issues and not just "this chap made an innappropiate comment to me." Do these people never go to nightclubs or anywhere outside of Westminster? Do they have a PA with them at all times to chaperone and intercept any attempt to talk to them?

There is political gain at the moment on any kind of identity politics and even little things like Jess Phillips suddenly wearing no make-up being on the "feminist" route are very noticeable.

There are some genuine people in there. Some with views/ideology you may not agree with but they are pretty honest about things. There are however a vast amount that jump on board any issue for their own benefit and leave (the cynic that people on here know I am) completely unsure of the actual intent of many of the politicians in there. They use serious issues as extra knives to plow into other's backs.

And the media play the game of taking serious issues and drawing in anything slight that they can add to the mix which then dilutes the original serious problems.
