Three bumpers and it isnt even a bank holiday!

    One For Rosie 5/1 3.35
    I'd Better Go Now 9/2 4,10
    As I See It 9/4 4.30

War Creation 5/1 looks a fair bet in the 3.05 (not a bumper)

Hopefully they will go with the maximum stake of £2. Don't really get how that works for the slots part though, as surely they would also have to reduce that down to about 50p, as the whole point is at the moment the £100 max stake you can spin £300 in one minute. A slot press takes what 2 seconds? If that stayed at £2 that's still £60+ a minute

I'm not sure why they need banning, if people are daft enough to chuck too much money into them then more fool them. Surely the responsibility lies with the punter. You might aswell ban all gambling, its easy enough to spend £60 a minute on horse racing

That is a typical bookmaker response badger, i agree everyone makes their own decisions but a lot of people have no self control or a highly addictive personality, and these things that lure them in just add and contribute too it, and its ridiculous how much money people can lose on these things, it ruins lives. Even when i go to put a horse bet on in the bookies these days you just have 10 youths that can't be older than 19 just crammed round them putting all their money in them. It's ridiculous and a serious serious problem, and if you think it's purely down to the punter then you're very narrow minded & its basically the equivalent of saying Crack or Heroin should be legal as it's people's own decisions to take them and not the drugs fault.

People need steering away from being fools, not being led to being fools.

Bookmakers survived and got by before FOBT's and can survived and get by without FOBT's. Some of the people would purely just open online accounts and gamble on there, but some wouldn't so it would still help a lot of people, would save lives, save families, reduce crime, and make the world just that little bit better if they were not around.

Since when have people in this country started taking responsibility for their own actions. It’s never their fault and there is never enough being done to help them. The nanny state is responsible for creating all this nonsense. People living in view of Grenfell Tower are traumatised and need counselling and not enough is being done to help them. Thank **** those “Londoners” didn’t have to live there through WW11...!

Stick/Badger i do see your old age view point, but the problem is you need something to eliminate that risk of temptation, by your logics its all the individuals fault so why should rape and murder be illegal, as surely it's all because of the individuals so if it's legal or illegal they're still going to commit the crime and the people that wouldn't commit the crime wouldn't whether it was legal or illegal. When that is nonsense, the deterrent to people is the consequences in place.

Limiting these people to how much they can gamble/win or removing them completely eliminates and reduces that temptation the bookies put in place. It makes a lot of good people bad just looking at the stats/information, it leads to more suicides, more robberies, more violence, more harassment and more anger/hatred. The world has enough of that in, why allow ourselves to contribute too it?

If crack and heroin were legal instead of illegal a hell of a lot more people would do it, has nothing to do with the individual making his own choices, if the temptation is on offer some can not resist, people are not wired that way. Drinking, Gambling and Smoking are not allowed in the religion of being a muslim, yet 32% of muslims in this country admit to doing or having done at least one. Purely because they can't resist the temptation. It's a brain and human thing that a lot of people just can't control.

Old age view point! You mean coming from an era when you faced your responsibilities, didn't demand to have a label and didn't need a cuddle every five minutes.
Your view typifies for me EVERYTHING that is **** about our "modern" society!

Oh...and I used to chat girls up at work too!

Comparing gambling to rape and murder is laughable. We should be worried about bookmakers and gambling restrictions but the kind where I want £50 EW and Paddy Power offers me £1.28...!

Can't bet today as, being a Protestant (non-active, sadly), it is a National Holiday in Germany to celebrate the 500-year anniversary of The Reformation inspired by Martin Luther. We forgot to go shopping yesterday, and tomorrow is a Holiday too in Bavaria. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

(Oddy, will you send us a small food parcel please? Can't wait for your answer.<laugh>)

Old age point of view <laugh><laugh><laugh>. Us older uns need to set up a self help group to enable us to develop coping mechanisms to deal with the brickbats coming our way from whippersnappers like Chelsea <laugh>. As regards FOBT terminals they are pretty awful but not sure reducing the maximum stake will do anything to curb the problem. May just take half an hour to lose your wages rather than 15 minutes.
I've got a day off as I have to visit prospective schools for my kids as part of the new illusion of choice that us parents go through now which our parents didn't. All in the name of progress. I've already had to switch the TV off as some discussion program is advocating sacking a Tory minister for putting his hand on a journalists knee 15 years ago. The journalist whose knee it was isn't bothered about it but all these Z listers who make their living on these tripe shows are ever so upset by the whole business. It strikes me that the serious stuff (Weinstein, Spacey) is being mixed up with the stuff that has gone on in every office I've ever worked in to some degree.
Anyway today's racing. Man Look for Kennedy/McCain at Bangor, 3.05 @ 8/1. Good luck all.

I’m sorry Chelsea but what a crock of **** you’re spouting here! You are basically absolving people of any responsibility which is bollocks. People make choices and they always have a choice if you get addicted to something you still have a choice to do something about it.

And the **** you spouted about murder and rape well **** me, now who’s being naive.

And I’m 35 by the way so to write off mine and sticks viewpoint as being down to age just makes you look even more ridiculous
