Sorry if this has already been discussed on a prevous post but I felt so bad last night I could not bear to read all of the posts.

My question is 'should we give Westwood a chance in goal?' At Liverpool last week I thought Mignolet could have done better with Suarez goal and yesterday his positioning for the freekick was awful. I seem to remember he made a few mistakes in pre-season too.

My guess is Westwood will play against Brighton so hopefully he will get his chance and take it.

100% agreed.
Westwood will be in at Brighton. Problem being SB's record in the cups is a good as against the scumbags. I fear we may go out again

Already got the vid for you to decide Scatty...

Was he to blame?

If so then Westwood at least deserves a chance.

I think people forget he was brought into be number two for a few years while he matured and learnt his trade. At times he looks excellent but at others he makes the judgement of Lionel Perez look world class. Think it's time for him to have a bit of a sit on the bench for a while and take a little bit of pressure off. Westwood is more than capable of doing us a good job.

Listening to Bruce after the game, and during it, I would say Westwood would need to have a proper shocker on Tuesday not to be playing next Saturday.

Agreed Syd. Westwood is the more experienced of the two, so should get the gloves next Saturday. Mig is a good keeper, but needs more time to mature. What happened yesterday will have affected Migs confidence so it's best if he has a spell on the bench.

I like Mignolet and think he is a good goalkeeper; but his positioning was awful for the goal yesterday which consequently cost us the game..
As a matter of interest, did anyone elso notice how far the ref made our two man wall go back from the ball...I sit right next to where this incident took place, and the ref took fourteen strides when he measured the wall back..I reckon the wall must have been at least 12 yards from the ball...Not that I'm bitter or anything...:emoticon-0173-middl
