Announced on the BBC and other media sources: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41683786 40% win rate at a club like Everton seems pretty good to me. Not an amazing start to the season has left them in the drop zone after 9 games, but also one win away from 12th place. Thoughts, is this a bit harsh and he should have been given more time? Or is this a shrewd decision taken before it is too late?
His recent interviews have made this look inevitable. He seemed not to have a clue how to change things around.
As QPR fans are all too aware, if you spend zillions on players, it does not guarantee success. But having finished 7th last season, Koeman spends £140 million and form takes a dive towards the bottom of the Prem. The Arsenal game suggests there was no sign of a rally. Might Koeman have got it right eventually? Perhaps, but financial pressures in the Prem are such, the Everton board could not roll that dice.
Spent £145m on players during the summer but didn't replace Lukaku, buggers up his starting line up and formation to accomodate Rooney whilst playing Sigurdsson wide but has no wingers.........a bit of a shambles all round. They really should be somewhere between 6th and 12th and they will probably finish in that range, but it would be funny to see them relegated
Clearly lost the dressing room. His treatment of Barkley was ridiculous and four No.10's and no striker shows what a bollox he made of the transfer window. Another Dutch manager with an ego the size of a house joins the dole queue...
There are people saying he wasn't responsible for players in and out or replacing Lukaku. That was Steve Walsh's job. Doesn't mean he doesn't have an ego, though. Or that he wasn't up to the job.
Cue Harry Redknapp to rescue? Top top club are Everton. Only have to bring in another 13 players......
According to the font of all knowledge, the BBC those in the frame include Phillip Neville, Ryan Giggs, Carlo Ancelotti and Sean Dyche. All I can say is Sean don't do it, stay at Burnley.........and I'm not sure what actually qualifies Giggs and Neville to be considered...... Also Thomas Tuschal the former Dortmond boss has been mentioned........
