Not going to have a pop at Ricco (again!) he wasn't bad enough for me to bother today. The point I am going to make is we all have players we like and will defend to the hilt no matter how bad they play. Christ people used to say Whitehead was MOTM when he clearly had been the worst player on the pitch, they would say check the stats for his passes and totally ignore the fact 99% of them were hospital balls when he panicked. Does Bruce fall into this category with Ricco, does he honestly believe he is so good on the left that we don't need anyone else there? (Both LB and LW!) I am getting seriously worried about this now, as Bruce has had a couple of seasons to fill these positions on the left. Yet still hasn't done so. Is he so blinded to our problems on the left that he will continue in this vein? If so I fear the worst. FFS I'm not expecting him to steal Evra from Utd, but there has to be some workmen like LB's LW's available somewhere.
Let's face it, Bruce was a good defender in his day. Dirty sometimes (lots of times actually) but still a good defender. My point being, I guess he knows what skills and attributes are needed to succeed in defence. If, unlike me and 1000's of others he finds those skills in Richardson I have to wonder if someone is spiking his drinks.
Rule 31... Clearly states that even if your ****e, but your bird is fit as ****, the manager reserves the right to pick you before other players.
Richardson played ok day, 1 mistake I can think of, Brown made more errors and so did Bardo. But I agree we need to sign a left sided player. Personally I think we should go for Sturidge and play like this Migg Bardo Brown Anton Ricco Larson catts gardener Sess Gyan Sturidge To be honest Colback played well today both in the middle and Lb.
Richardson was absolutely clueless yet agaion as left back, a position he has no interest and no ability to play in. Why Bruce persists in playing the lad there is beyond me. I'm afraid Bruce is not the man for the task. He is the master (not a good one mind) of the round pegs and square holes style of management. Time to start looking for a replacement for Richo and the manager IMO.
What it tells us is Bruce is a clueless idiot and should be sacked immediately. Im sick of telling people how bad he is. Been banging on for over a year about it. Bruce out. Oneil in!
You cannot be serious, Oneil is more stubborn than Bruce and plays people out of position too. Its been 2 games FFS and to be honest we played well against Liverpool and well for the first half today. As for this: What a load of tripe, I question if you watched the game, I was there and Richardson made 1 mistake, he was not at fault for the free kick that cost the goal and he kept Obertan quiet all game. Brown had a worse game so did Elmo and Gyan. The bloke behind me kept moaning about Richardson even when he was nowhere near the ball, I think he thought Brown was Richardson. I know emotions are running high at the moment I drove 400 miles for the match and have just got home, I am as pissed off about it as everyone else but I am not going to use 1 player who did not have a bad game as a way to let off steam. We talked about this in the car on the way home there is no one better available (not that would come here). Oshea is not fit which is why Richardson is playing, he is our 2nd choice LB FFS and did almost nothing wrong today.
I have seen crap when we had the likes of Wilkinson at the helm. No chance his wages are too high. This is our problem there is no-one better out there, I would question how good Bridge is nowadays, he looked out of his depth playing for West ham last season. Oshea will hopefully be fit soon and Ricco can go on the bench or LW or judging by our scoring record up front.
Does seem that Ricco is the latest scapegoat. Got the flak for Brighton's goal, but I don't think anyone mentioned that it was he who made the last-ditch interception when there was the one-on-one earlier in the game. Selective viewing?
