Time to snap out of it then. If you're feeling a bit better then it is time for a new you, as from today [seeing as it is past midnight in both time zones as I write this]. There's plenty of time to feel crap once you come back to these shores. :)

I read this earlier and couldn't exactly measure any response. But seeing as you've said as much perhaps you'll keep us informed.

On another subject, I presume they could perform a DNA test on one, so hey, I could visit a clinic and find out once and for all whether I really am related to Valentino Rossi. I'm getting fed up with all the coincidences of birth. :)

I'll give keep you informed, but apparently the waiting list is uber long, so there won't be much to keep you informed about for a while. But... if you have any questions in the mean time I'd be willing to answer any.

Watched two films in the last few days. One you may not have seen, the other you almost certainly have. First up, Sleeping With Other People [2015].
This is a romantic comedy that is fairly short on outright laughs, though it does make one smile a lot. Stars Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie [what a cheesy name] and is about two people who meet each other in college by an event and form a superficial bond which is stronger than they imagine. The laughs are thinnish, but the film is satisfying overall, and I found myself caring about the characters [a good sign] so, if you fancy something light-hearted, but which might surprise you, then this is OK fare.

The other film was Gravity [2013]. First time I've watched it all through since an astonishing watch at an IMAX 3D cinema 4 YEARS AGO. [can it really be 4 years already.?] Jeez.! Well, you know how good the film is, providing you watch it on the biggest screen and best sound possible. Actually, on a decent sized HDTV, sitting fairly close to the screen, and with a rip-roaring hi-fi providing the thunderous sound, one can get a decent second watch. Glasses of red wine help with the lack of 3D [my TV doesn't have it, nor my film copy, so there], and aid the overall enjoyment. So I hesitatingly recommend this also for people who are revisiting or are watching it for the first time. Truthfully though, you first timers, if you didn't watch it when it was in the cinema, with the biggest screens, then you missed an adventure treat. Visually, it was absolutely stunning. And over in 90 minutes, so you had time to get to the pub or restaurant afterwards. Terribly civilised stuff.

Actually, there is a reason I didn't bother buying a 3D capable TV. I still think it is largely a gimmick of a few years ago. 3D films don't emerge at the same rate as they did and the vast majority are not improved by it. Gravity is the example of the exception. It is the reason for 3D. You never get the sense of being 250 miles out from Earth while watching in 2D. You certainly do in IMAX 3D. But you don't buy a TV spec on one film.

3D TV was and always has been a gimmick, with a few exceptions. The refresh rate on some of the 3D sets was a lot higher than most regular 2d sets so they made great TV's for gamers and PC users.
Gravity and Avatar are the only films in 3D that have impressed me visually but both were style over substance IMO.

Especially Avatar. I was so underwhelmed by that film. In the case of Gravity, they pulled off the visual miracle of mimicking weightlessness so convincingly that I don't think people appreciated it enough. They just took it as ordinary. If there had been a couple of visual mistakes showing I think people might have realised what a technical feat it was.

Basically over the last few years I have been questioning my gender. I know it seems ridiculous, but for a long time I have had this feeling that my actual gender doesn't not completely correlate with my physical gender, I have had this feeling which has grown stronger with time. I don't know if you have know Steam but it's essentially a social network for gamers, and I have been a member of for years... but I have been a member as a female with the name Samantha. And over time, it has grown more and more that this is me, that Samantha is me. Thus when I play a game as Samantha, despite not being my actual name it feels like me and it feels closer to the way I perceive myself, I see myself more as Samantha than the actual me. Thus the gender identity clinic is based on the idea of ensuring one's identified gender matches their physical gender. For me that would be as identifying as female.

I always thought I'd read you'd changed from blue to red, PL, but I was thinking more about your football colours!

Can I ask what do you want to hear from the clinic right now? How do you feel?

    Good luck.

May and late Sept to October are the best times, cheaper, quieter and no kids around :)

Though with all the steep cliffs/walks I wouldn’t recommend small children anyway. A totally peaceful experience!

Staying in Oia, the home of the sunset!

Thira is a bit busier and has a bit more night life. I’ll show you some nice places to stay over a beer before the footie soon.

Of the Greek islands Naxos is in my heart the most due to working there 21 years ago, but Santorini is a close second now for the sheer beauty. Every photo could be a postcard. Amazing to think I am on the lip of a volcano looking out over a water filled Caldera.

So relaxing too - Best tonic for my 4-5+ week chest infection. Hopefully the X-ray in a couple of weeks will come up good too [emoji16]

Yeah sounds good mate, don't know when I'll next make a home game to be honest would be appreciated cheers. When is it you're back?

Not sure if I'd be too keen on nightlife either tbh, depends if I could find anyone to go with, and even then wouldn't be something I plan my trip around.

all the best with your xray too mate when it comes around <ok>

Never been to Greece and apparently quite cheap so is on my list to do soon.

Yes, Greece lost a lot of land when Santorini exploded. One of the biggest explosions ever:

Just got this off my phone on Maps - really shows well the volcano that is known as Santorini. You can see where the lava should be - it is now just a water flooded caldera.
