That John Bishop is well posh. Rickie is the real deal, la. Loved watching his interviews. The letter he wrote to the fans when he left was lovely because it was writ in scouse, know what I mean la? Showed he'd actually played a part in its composition, which was great.

Has he got that job yet?

Since the turn of the century which player has scored the most goals in the top 4 divisions of English football?

Apparently the answer is Rickie Lambert with 290, someone told me in the pub last night.

13/14 season was the epitome of the halcyon days. Such a good team that played so well together with an abundance of guile and talent. Rodriguez and Lallana at their best with an emerging Shaw plus Clyne, Fonte and Schneiderlin and S Davis who seemed to be everywhere.

Lambert got the goals but his link up play and technique was also superb.

Loved him so much that when he was with us I declared him my fave ever player! I've since realised I got caught up in the romance of the moment and I would now like to put him alongside the mighty Le Tissier on the same pedestal.

Both great players with amazing vision, 1 was a legend as he stayed with us for entire career despite being able to walk into most other teams. 1 was a legend due to his rags to riches story which culminated in smashing it in the Premier League while also getting into the England team and scoring that goal and then getting his dream move to his club proving that dreams can come true.

Never have I been so pleased to lose a favourite player before but with Rickie, we were proud and so very chuffed as if he was a son or brother!

Think that says so much about him as a person and his love for us in the retirement statement and the statement when he left us shows us just how much the feeling was mutual!

Arise Sir Richard of Lambert!
 
Been a great morning. Watched LeTiss talking to Gary Neville about his years and then read Rickie's retirement IV. Sad, but not surprised that he regrets leaving Saints. Not as much as we do I'm sure.
