In my view it's the arrogance the Trump administration has about the stupidity of the US electorate, so far being proved right.
Don't think that's quite how it works mate. The issue is whether Ukip's logo is clearly distinguishable from the one already registered to the PL. Do Nike own the rights to a tick?
it is a prevailing view in DC, someone else will pay for it. It was one of Trumps main battle cries in draining the swamp. I believe that that 3 or 4 are also under investigation. also all the other sackings or resignations have been White House staffers or part of trumps advisors, this is the first cabinet sacking, Trump apparently is livid and expect the others sacked soon if found guilty
The 2 lions heads are different though. The PL one much more simplified, lion has a crown on, it has its mouth closed and isn't "roaring!!! Did they go after RICS for their purple lion logo? Same colours again. Their lion has a crown on too: https://www.rics.org/uk/
Oh dear, the anti abortion, even in the event of rape or incest, Jacob Rees Mogg, is making a lot of money from investing in a company that manufactures a drug used in terminating pregnancy. Apparently he is not a hypocrite.
The videos I am seeing of the police beating people is disgusting. A women sitting in the middle of the road protesting got beat around the face. Thry are now attacking the firefighters that are protesting. ****s
The Spanish government say that they are within their rights to deal with this the way they are!!! Was it Ides that eulogises about us having a leader like Rajoy? Leader of "The People's Party" really?
I say what ever region wants to be independent should get a vote. Spain didn't even allow the Catalans to do that legally. Closing down the voting systems etc is a scum move. Beating up the public for voting is even worse.
The Spanish constitution is clear on the matter, so it's illegal to hold the referendum. The solution is to talk to change the constitution, not just to go ahead and hold a referendum anyway. Knowing that the Police have been sent out to prevent people voting illegally then going out en masse and blaming the Police when they try to stop people voting illegally is odd. The people going out to vote aren't people peacibly lining up and queueing to vote. There's a great deal more behind this than you have stated and this isn't quite as clear cut as it looks. But then life generally isn't black or white. Vin
I disagree with the way the Catalan administration called a referendum without first obtaining the consent of the Spanish parliament. But Rajoy's government have now put themselves firmly in the wrong, through their heavy handed response to what was initially little more than an unconstitutional gimmick. Confiscating ballot papers - albeit issued illegally in the first place - then drafting thousands of Guardia Civil officers into Catalonia, was a massive own goal by the Spanish government. God knows where all this will now end. The real irony is that Catalans themselves were split down the middle over this isdue, but if one thing is likely to unite them behind a nationalist banner, it is the central governments massive overreaction.
Only reason the vote is such a mess is because Spain won't allow them to do it as they see it as being illegal. If Spain allowed them to vote on independence then none of the dodgy **** or violence would have gone one. I blame the Spainish government for it all. As I said before any region wanting to go independent should at the very least get a vote. Then see if it is viable to go ahead with it.
I guarantee that if, say, Trump tried to breach the US constitution to terrorise people in the LGBT community you'd be up in arms about it. But someone demanding independence wants to break Spain's constitution to hold a referendum and you seem to be OK about it. Seems a little odd, that's all. That's why you have a constitution, to give you rules by which everyone has to play. Vin
Both are completely different. One is to stop harassment and another is to stop people voting independence. Not every rule in constitution are good rules. I can agree with one while thinking another is bad and should never be a law in the first place.
