So, today - at the later kick off time (woohoo!) of 17.30 thanks to a rare outing on satellite TV, the boys hit the turf at the Madejski Stadium as guests of Reading F.C. This is the scene of some memorable moments in the past, such as referee Neale Barry's 'assist' for Phil Mulryne to blast into the top corner in April 2004 and Grant Holt's brutal stamp all over poor Ian Harte in November 2010, which gave referee Michael Oliver precious little alternative but to send the offending hatchet man off. Whereas a visit to Specsavers would have been far better, as Holty never touched him and the 3 game ban was laughed out of the appeal tribunal Recent spice has been added by Reading's vigorous pursuit of the new Eusébio, namely (Lord) Nelson Oliviera in the final throes of the most recent transfer window for a figure reported to be circa £8m *Crass journalism alert* http://readnorwich.com/2017/07/07/norwich-accept-reading-offer-for-oliveira/ Still, all that is firmly in the past so today we can focus on maintaining our watertight defence once more, but also try and locate the onion bag at the opposite end, which has become a bit of an elusive sight lately. Team news to follow ASAP. In the meantime, COYY / OTBC P.S. I went to the last ever game at the 'legendary' Elm Park on 3/5/1998 - what a s***hole. Flecky was playing for them and Bellamy, of bellabellabella-my fame scored the winner for us. We stood on the open terraces at the far end. please log in to view this image
Cracking MTD Cromer and I seem to remember us taking a 3-0 lead only for GH to be sent off and the Royals went on to equalise - I think that game was also televised. Am I right in thinking that we snuck a last minute victory in the reverse fixture at CR that season with a 'team goal' courtesy of McNally and PL???
Well, lookee here what just turned up on twitter I'm claiming all the credit, of course, for talking it up in the first place
I was just reading the article by TK on getting Josh 'back on board' and the team spirit that DF has instilled in a few months - something AN seemed incapable of doing in his 2 years at the helm!!
Maybe a "sky pilot" is a euphemism for a 'gentleman of the cloth persuasion' but if so I've never heard it before? After all, our souls all go up to heaven, don't they? Unless, of course your name is.................
They have messed around with all the channel names, but I'm pretty sure Norwich are on "Sky Sports Main Event" Channel this evening.
Download Mobdro on Android I have a 10.1 inch tablet which is crystal clear a bit blocky if I cast it.
I think AN is a good manager when he's got underdog players, but I have a feeling that he really couldn't manage egos. A couple of our players seemed to get a bit too big for their boots and he never clamped down on it, which seemed to make their position in the team invulnerable. A generalisation o course, but it's interesting to see that Farke doesn't care about Murphy's position in the team or reputation - if he trains and behaved badly, he's suitably dealt with.
He's currently injured, possibly long term. Whether he'd make the squad if he was fit, I'm not sure admittedly.
He and Martin are both sidelined with severe bruising of the ego ,Martin tried to play with pain killing injections but it didn't work.
