Leic 2.25 Shepherd Market 4/1

Caught my eye first time out in what I thought was a decent maiden and looked to have learned plenty for it when winning last time. The fav is a half sister to Abingdon and ran a lovely race first time, she looks the main danger and a nice horse for the future but I think Shepherd Market has stronger form in the book and I expect her to take a few lengths out of these from a handy position whenever Kirby wants to go.

Morning, team. Hope everyone well. Good, good.

Disappointed that Fair Eva, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, hasn’t been entered in Friday’s ‘Sceptre Stakes’ but she is in next month’s Group 1 ‘Sun Chariot’. It may therefore be a case of why win another Group 3 when we can bally well bag a Group 1! Time will tell, I guess.

Big question of the day though has to be are we all a bit underwhelmed, and I do mean underwhelmed, by the ‘Legends’ at Donny of the morrow?!? Perhaps, the Racecourse Executive may, under the old ‘Trade Descriptions Act’ be forced to change the race title!

Good luck, crew.

How old do the jockeys have to be to qualify, George Duffield being 70. Willie Carson isn't riding, he's only 74

I’m guessing anyone can ride who is retired. Don’t think age comes into it. In fact it deffo doesn’t as just seen that ‘young Joseph’ was victorious last year.

Some decent jockeys have won the race looking back – young Joseph, Mick Kinane, Julie Krone, Charlie Swan. Although a mere 'run of the mill journeyman' took the honours in ’15 so it hasn’t just been won by ‘the greats’.

Looking at previous renewals though it is curious as to why this year’s riders are comparatively somewhat, how to I put this diplomatically…lacking.

Having a play with an Appleby/SDS double at Leicester
3.55 Sean O'Casey
4.25 Qeyaadah

The pick from Der Kaiser in the opener at Leicester ( Shepherd Market ) together with The Great Dandini in the Catterick opener could be a cracking start to the day, or at least I'm hoping so.

Interested to see how Bise D'estruval does in the 4.05 at Worcester, too, but watch only.

( Le Manege Enchante could be a bit of 8/1 value in the 3.45 at Catterick )

Good Luck all.

( Away at Maidenhead United on a September Tuesday evening, meanwhile Huddersfield and Brighton are in the Premier League; football, eh? )

Typical Moore, 10/11 out to 11/4, looks well beat and he gets it up after ****ing everycunt rotten all weekend.

Doctor Bartolo. 6.45. Newcastle.

Will take some of the 7/2 available for this one. Good course form and step up in trip may bring some further improvement.
