I saw Ryan Adams, Jack Johnson, Smashing Pumpkins, Little Feat and a few others in a quick scan - they were in bold so probably the ones who actually have a record deal. A good list to show X Factor critics, though - see how many losers the music biz creates without Simon Cowell being involved. I'm proud to say I have played 'Hopelessly Devoted to You' on a professional basis. A career highlight. Baron, nice theme. Speaking of themes, probably my fave classical piece:
Nice one Mupp,To be honest when i started looking at the list and i got to the bottom of the A column and did'nt know any of the artists i thought f-it,and out of those you've pointed out i've only heard of Little Feat.
I love a good movie score as well, shutter islands is immense as well as many others, Candyman, Scarface, Carlito's way, tons of them with just an awesome score throughout the movie. Recently Daft Punk did the entire score for TRON and that was pretty sick too, if you enjoy that type of music.
An example, from shutter island.... just relaxing and magnificent.
carlito's way..... also these grand scores are sampled in countless Rap/Hip-hop songs....
Ryan Adams was the singer in a band called Whiskeytown before going solo, his first album Heartbreaker is amazing but downhill from there. The Whiskeytown stuff is all good... Evening Dave! Take a look at this, the band is called Dirty Three and the guy playing the violin in Warren Ellis from the soundtracks I posted. IMO the guy is a modern day musical genius.
