    Oh.

    There's 3 more.

Maybe calm down before posting mate. You seem in a bit of a tissy about England. I thought they were world class again today. I said earlier.

No Tettey was one of the main reasons why we failed to counter attack quickly. He seems incapable of playing a forward pass unless there's no other option available.

We have plenty of attacking midfielders for that. Someone has to be able to tackle in there.

You don't need a gap between the word and the full stop.

I don't know if you were at the Charlton game Canario, but Tettey DID pass the ball forward a lot of the time.

Saw that this morning. I can't see how he's managed that. It's like one of those optical illusions.

The answer is simple, as he landed on his stomach, he rolled, it would be obvious in slo-mo! <ok>

Listening to a football podcast at work. A guy covering the lower leagues just said: "a surprising club to keep an eye on is Shrewsbury! They have pulled off some great results, got a very good improving manager, and they play really attractive football"

They have 3 of our lads on loan don't they? Morris, Godfrey and Someone else. Is it Effe or Adams or someone?

Whilst i agree with the primary message of the article, the futility in Booing a player, especially during a game. I really have no remaining patience with Martin the player. So what if all the managers in the last 7 years have picked him, none of those managers ever had a great defense fit for purpose. Hughton put 11 men behind the ball and we still conceded too many. So you can try to deflect blame to the other CB partners but that doesn't change the fact that Russ is not good enough for a side with aspirations of getting to and staying in the PL. Once as a FB yes he was a tidy player, but he is the very definition of soft underbelly at CB.
In the modern game it is unusual to see loyalty and genuine passion from a player, it is appreciated but there is mitigation. If I was being payed as well as he is, had had no better offers (I doubt anyone else would pay him as much!), I think I might be loyal too. Like with the rest of the list of CB's we have failed to buy a single central defender who longterm had enough to cope at PL level. Just remember, just as the rest have not moved on to bigger and better things, Martin has not either. Loyalty or limitations?
I like Martin, he comes across as a very nice bloke who cares for our club. He just isn't good enough on the pitch and hasn't been for some time. Is he better than the rest we have had? Some yes but does anyone really hope he continues to play? For that to happen, it means that; Hanley, Zimmerman, Franke or Raggett have failed to be better than him and that will not lend itself well to any sort of promotion challenge.

    Bah!

Good post above GM. Whilst I agree that's he's no longer up to it and hasn't been for a while, the point remains that by singling out a scapegoat (there's at least one per season - Naismith seems to have slipped free of the vitriol so far this season) it has a negative affect on the entire team from front to back. Witness what the article says about Jacob Murphy and one stray pass last season - from local hero to local zero with one kick of a pig's bladder <doh>
If they boo Martin, they inadvertently boo (and weaken) the whole team and that's counterproductive however it's dressed up.

If you go to see a film, and it falls below your expectations, there is no way you would boo at the screen. So why boo at our OWN players? It makes no sense to me. We are fans, and fans support, not criticise during play. Maybe in the pub after the game when the points have been won or lost, but to boo during the game is almost certainly going to affect the whole team and likely lead to a negative result. Basically, it is counter productive.
