£35m with 12 months left on his contract. Wayne Rooney going off with that woman is a better decision.

Germany 6-0 against Norway. We'd better get seeded for this World Cup!

Is there a team in international football that we can't make look good?

Northern Ireland proving that a team can be a lot greater than the sum of its parts, although Evans, Davis and Brunt are underrated.

You are such a bunch of cynics <laugh>

I thought Slovakia were a decent side and England played well in the second half. If Spurs had kept the ball as well against Burnley we would have won.

Result more important than the performance.
The lack of candidate England CM
    playmakers is a real problem.

Unless there is a stratospheric improvement, we are going to get gubbed by the first half decent team that we come up against. A draw of Germany or Brazil would be embarrassing. Do we really have to play Call and The Ox?

I was thinking exactly this. Sterling runs to the corner, slows it down, cuts back and takes a corner. Job done.

I thought that was positively daft to send Livermore on as a sub just seconds before the final whistle. He just had time to break into a trot.I suppose he gets a cap for that.....?
Just think......Harry Clark,Bill Nich and George Robb only got one cap each!

Anyone else think that ITV would not have dissected Dele's finger gesture in such detail if it had been a Liverpool or United player.

3 assists and 2 free kick goals in 2 games

Hope Eriksen is ready to play this kind of football for the Spurs now

Now I dislike Jack Wilshire as much as the next sane, level headed human being, but I can't deny that he was mighty effective in a deeper role for England before his last injury. We need a player like him, or Winks, or Carroll, who can run a game and keep the tempo high when we need it to be, and take control of games when the opposition start to make the tempo suit them, as Slovakia did at times on Monday. Henderson, Livermore and Dier are capable DMs who can knock a 40 yarder when it suits them but we need much more than that from a midfield playmaker alongside one of them. As others have mentioned, Dele isn't that player, though the front 4 looked quite good tonight and with a bit more guile behind them we might have seen more in an attacking sense from England.

Aside from that, more from Rashford please, as he looked like a right tyro at that level. And please can we improve on the CB pairing somehow. Otherwise, England fans have had far worse international breaks, all told.
