Steve said he 'didn't get' why we find it weird that Bruce was jumping around with joy after we battered you guys 5-1 and then got a draw which was 30 seconds away from being a win. I've just explained why we think it's weird.
If you don't like it, I couldn't care less really.
I'd prefer him to sit with a face like death, because he should know that the first game was absolutely not good enough, and he should know that barely getting a draw in our home ground isn't good enough either during our much-hyped revenge game.
I wouldn't want the bastard to think he'd got away with that, cos it ain't good enough against our biggest rivals. He should also have a serious go at the players for not pulling their finger out in either game.
and i still dont get it, its called the heat of the moment, and pure relief/joy in that split second of the goal going in.
honestly, it just sounds like sour grapes from your lot, as you didnt get the win which you "probably" (and i say that very loosly) deserved on the day.
It's not that I don't like it..... you're BORING us to death...... think of something we can exchange ideas about.... that's what a forum IS.
It's difficult to visualise, but if it did happen I'd probably just slump in my chair and go 'thank **** for that'. I definitely wouldn't leap around with joy. I would if we turned the tables and thrashed you guys 5-0 in the revenge game, but for barely scraping a draw after being thrashed 5-1, I don't think it's something to be particularly proud of.
It's a bit like how Bent reacted in the 5-1 game. That's what I'd feel like. We got 5 past you, he managed to get one goal but he just didn't celebrate whatsoever. Across both games, that is what it would feel like to me.
Btw, this is from the perspective that you guys were expecting two wins against us as a newly promoted side. Going from expecting two wins to getting thrashed and barely getting a last-minute draw would **** me right off. You'd expect the manager and the players to give a lot more for a game which is so important to the fans.
Nobody EXPECTED two wins. We knew we had a chance of 6 points but then again so did you lot. Nobody can predict a derby. League form, previous seasons, position in the table all go out of the window for 90 minutes during a derby game. You can't expect to win any derby. You can know we're in with a chance though.
It's kinda pointless here lads, Chappaz can't see your point of view, so he'll never understand it. It's a complete waste of time trying to explain it to him.
A lot of mackems did though you have to admit. We were a newly promoted side and everyone was expecting us to drop right back down into the Championship again. You guys had strengthened while we were down and were confident of victories. Even the mackem players have admitted that they underestimated us on the day.
I'd be the same though. If you guys had just came up from promotion with a thin squad after we had spend a good wedge of cash, I'd be expecting at least one win and I'd hope for two. If we then ended up getting hammered in the first one and barely drawing the second one, I'd be slightly miffed.

If no one wants to try and prove me wrong or prove their point, then I'd rather they just didn't respond to me. However, they keep doing it, and when they do that, I'll share my point of view in return. If I agree, I'll say. If I disagree, I'll say.
I've gave my honest views on why I wouldn't be happy with what happened derby-wise last season if I was in Sunderland's shoes. I then have a bunch of people explaining why I'm wrong. None of them have convinced me otherwise, so I'm obviously going to keep disagreeing. If people are going to whinge that I keep disagreeing, then just stop trying to prove me wrong.
it does seem to be going a bit back and forth like. I click back on the thread, hoping against hope for a critical breakthrough, just to be thwarted at the last.

To be honest, I'd just like threads to develop further than going round and round and round with the same point being made over and over and over again.
Well, when someone new pops up, quotes my post and tries to tell me that I'm wrong, I don't really have much choice to repeat my point again, because it's the point I stand by.
It's to be expected though. What I'm saying in the middle of a Sunderland forum surrounded by a bunch of mackems is somewhat controversial, so I'll get almost everyone throwing in their disagreeing opinion.
I could throw in an "I agree, but" if that softens the blow?

I'm wrong sometimes and when I am I admit it. When I have an opinion though I really do believe in it. How often can you say you've had a very strong opinion, and then someone has came along and made you realise that you were completely wrong? When I'm a mag and you're a mackem with our obvious bias, I honestly think you would only be happy if I kept admitting I was wrong literally every time I have an opposing viewpoint.
Anyway I don't share my opinions for people to try and tell me how wrong I am. Although if people really want to, they can be my guest.
Anyway, thats my last post in this thread. I swear I'm even starting to get on my own tits with this one. Not being able to back down is a curse, I'm tellin ya.
