No official link to Nedum Onuoha, but having seen he's up for sale and with Man City wanting to spend would he be a good signing?

I've tried to have patience with Bassong but over the years he's just looked so dopey positionally I just can't see him ever being the defender we all hope he's become.

Onuoha on the other hand whenver i've seen him play has all the attributes of a top modern centre back (Pace, Strength, composure on the ball etc..). I know we have no control over these matters but if Onuoha was made available to us and you were manager would you be interested in the deal.

At the reported figure of around £4 million, i'd snap him up in a heartbeat and then pocket what we could get for Bassong. Not hating on a player but I just see a cracking signing here.

I think that Bassong wants to leave, as he was virtually unused last season, despite playing 38 times in the previous season and establishing a good partnership with Dawson.
If he is allowed to move on, then Onuoha would be a good replacement, assuming that he'd accept being as far down in the pecking order as the departing Cameroonian has been.
His chances at City look limited and his versatility would probably ensure that he gets a decent number of games in the cups, at least.

He also ticks the boxes for the new homegrown rules too if we went in for him. I've never understood why the likes of Lescott and Boyata are rated higher than him by City. His versatility to also cover full back positions would be massively helpful too.

I reckon Caulker might turn into some player this year with the amount of defending he's gonna be doing down at Swansea...

I really don't know why Kenwright's publicised that.
Surely he's just declared open season on his own players?

I was aware of what he said Ensil, I just don't understand why he's said it.
Even if he's looking to offload players, he's just weakened his own negotiating position by basically stating that they're skint.

Time to bid for Arteta and Jagielka! <laugh>

Arteta has proven to be very injury prone in recent years, he had a couple of good seasons, but wouldn't say he'd be a proper replacement for Modric. Plus i'm not sure he'd come to us - you get the feeling that he would only move for Champs League...

I can see Arteta ending up at the Goons.

I'd take Rodwell, Fellaini, Arteta, Cahill, Jagielka and since it's 'Arry, Phil Neville, all for a tenner.

Funnily enough, I suggested the exact same move on their board yesterday.
One of their lot wrote an article this morning saying that he couldn't believe nobody had suggested it! <laugh>
