The amount of money required to turn this team into a top 6 side is beyond imaginable in the current climate.
Can't argue. FSG are reluctant spenders. I blame Comoli, spending all that money on Carrol and Downing has made them transfer shy
Well, the summer has seen us make no steps forward at all; the same problems are still there. Without Coutinho, our midfield is dreadful both defensively and creatively (Lallana's alright but injured for a long time). Defense has no protection and the forwards have no service. Defense is a shambles as ever. I know none of us are ex-players or managers, but how can all of us come to a consensus on what our problems are and yet the management/ownership haven't addressed any of them? CB, DM, LB (Robertson isn't the solution) and a creative forward. If only we had been promised a bucket load of money to spend... I'm also pretty concerned about Klopp too. The bench he's picked screams out a lack of creativity, spark or ability to change the game. Best we could try is moving Firmino to 10 and bringing on Solanke. I know they're young, but Kent or Woodburn would at least bring something different.
I'd rather take one of the midfield trio off for Solanke. Move Firmino to AM and see if he can offer a creative spark
Might as well Sub Firmino for an empty shirt... it'd do more for the team. While we're at it can we sub Lovren and Moreno for a couple of cones.
Without Coitinho we are gonna be like a **** version of Barca from last season, bypassing a poor midfield to try and provide service for our forwards
Cant help but think that Origi would have already became one of the best young strikers in Europe under the tutelage of Brendan.
And if Coutinho goes I can see FSG looking to leave. The transfer system doesn't work in their eyes. Try and build a team with Coutinho, 5 year deal on £180k a week and he just fcuks off. Meantime we can't get the players we need. What's the point?
