I don't know much about art but I'd like to get a couple of paintings (well, prints) for the house. What have you lot got on your walls and are there any artists you like that you haven't bought any of their work yet?

But other than that I dunno. Not usually keen on modern art, some of it is fine of course but I prefer paintings that look nice rather than ones that challenge your perceptions or whatever.
 
I love drawing - I'm not good at it and often try to draw things from images trying to get shading right and things - I have utter respect for anyone capable of doing it as I simply can't - doesn't stop me trying mind!

Aye same as people like yourself who are musicians I've always admired those who can just sit and effortlessly create art. I can do some artwork in my own way but if I try to draw people or animals it looks like a kid did it.

Stick some of your work on here if you feel like it mate.

Not been settled enough recently to put up art. All of my art from the last house are still packed. I was picking up lovely oils of unknown local artists at auction for less than the frames were worth. When I move next it's going to be a long time before I do it again so going to start from scratch.

My absolute favorite artist is Hieronymus Bosch, a dutchman who specialised in big **** off triptychs. His work is very very dark, lots of scenes from hell, but some of it is funny as hell, what's more the detail is phenominal and I love his style.

His prints are a bit dark and creepy for house walls though which i why I just enjoy the books on him.

His most famous work is The Last Judgement painted in the 1400s .Here's the full thing followed by a tiny zoomed in area of it to let you know the extent of the detail.

I remember seeing them when I was little, my parents must have had a book on him, it was a bit much for my young brain haha.
 
I'm attending an art exhibition on the 17th of this month.

Breughel was a class artist. Get a magnifying glass and explore some of the detail in his paintings. Unbelievable.

Some of the older artists I like are Velasquez, Goya and Vermeer. Some of their kit you can put up round the house. I have a few prints of each.

We have a few other animal sketches and paintings, and the brother of a friend has painted her some very cool stuff. Need to save up a few bob for that though.

I'd love to go to that, yep, detail is phenomenal. Same period as Bosch and both Dutch(i think), similar style and technique too only Breughel is much more child friendly. Enjoy. :)

This'd look spot on behind my oak furniture land coffee table, very neutral and soothing.

I prefer abstracts. I like to work out what the **** was going through the guy's head!

I don't like portraits or landscapes.

Bri's taste would freak me out after a few beers. Great art, and of it's time, but I struggle with sleep most nights anyway!

I know I just picked that one to be a dick, yeah the art of painting one is nice. It's got that teal and orange colour scheme that Hollywood has been beating the crap out of for the past five years.

I don't tend to like the old masters work so much, I'd like to visit a gallery and see them but they aren't really my cup of tea to look at every day.

Have a walk round the Portrait Museum in London mate.

An interesting walk through time.

The National Gallery is pretty awesome as well.

It's on my to do list, I'm not crazy about it like I say but I'd like to see one or two of the most famous paintings in the history of man before I die.

Just remembered another artist called Henri Rousseau, I like him because his paintings please me and because he's possibly worse than me at drawing people.
