Good Morning Everyone please log in to view this image Leeds Utd v Preston North End Saturday 12th August 2017 at 3.00pm. Streaming links to follow It is reported that Elland Road may been a sell out on Saturday for Leeds first home game of the season. By the end of last week, 30,000 tickets had been sold, and that number is rising daily. It will be interesting to see whether Preston sell their allocation. Leeds will be without Matthew Pennington for 4-6 weeks following his ankle injury at the Macron Stadium on Sunday. Berardi will be out of of action too due to dislocating his shoulder during the same game Better news for the Swiss international is that he has signed a three year extension at the club. His deal was to come to an end at the end of this season... Bridcutt, O'Kane, Green, Doukara, Cooper and Hernandez are the other players whose contracts are also up next Summer. Felix did not fulfil me with confidence on Sunday, but looks set to continue between the sticks as Rob Green did not train yesterday. Is he injured, or is he about to depart? New signing Borthwick-Jackson, bought in by TC as a left back, can also play centre back if needed, though let's remember that Jansson will return from suspension.
Morning all. The strangest decision of the summer for me was buying Sacko. Personally I think he’s useless although regular attendees at games would know more than me. His cameo role on Sunday was an embarrassment. We had a whole season to see his limitations, why waste money on him. With that said, he should be a good bet to score two tonight
Quiet day today, much happening elsewhere, you know, nuclear war breaking out or anything serious like that? Not sure what Sacko is missing but I agree we had a year to look at him so what can't we see? He scares defenders and goes past a few, and he seems to put the graft in but then......... is he in the team purely to give the other guys a rest. no point running after that, lets get back into position, run down the clock or what? I hope we have a bit of a cup run and he can prove his worth. If he's not up to it then January sales
Sacko if selected tonight needs to demonstrate what he is otherwise he will end up as the butt of all Leeds fans upset, somebody has to take the place of Bellusci, so be warned young fella. Barrow & Grimes have gone too so Sacko may be the man to hate now? Pity about Pennington as hes the nearest we've seen to Woodgate, lets hope he stays injury free when he comes back unlike Woodgate. Interesting to see what tam is selected tonight as we should see 1 or 2 who will be playing on Saturday plus new signings & if BPF is in goal Green is gone
Nope not me, weve another poster that would oblige Im sure Curious though 2020, do you see anything in Sacko apart from a burst of speed ?
Not really, he's the epitome of poor decision making ability. Woollcott was the same (at a higher level), don't know if he can be coached to do better but it would be a real coaching achievement if he could be My comment was a joke, I picked up your comment that after criticising him he'd score two - hence my request you criticise a few more
I got the joke but afraid if I criticise them all, Id start sounding like the other crank Maybe weve lots more cash than we thought so Rad can afford 2m on Sacko as a gamble
There are 3 or 4 players from last season that really do need to improve if they are to stay. Bridcutt, Dallas, O'Kane, Sacko. A possible midfield that under acheived. Dallas so far in pre season has looked ok O'Kane was brilliant last week in the first half, but Sacko only got 10 mins but boy they were a bad few minutes. Bridcutt not seen anything in pre season to say he will start many games
Bridcutt did get pre-season time in Austria, Doc. He played with the 'possibles' & paired Viera. He managed to turn the game every time he played, but not in the way you'd hope. He made interesting games into dull Keystone Cop affairs. I liked him when he signed for us as he stiffened a very leaky defence. But we don't play that way any more, and he doesn't seem to have adapted to the quick, fast-moving game we've adopted. I think they're just waiting for an offer for him, or just running down his contract in the hope he'll find a club himself. Was about to defend Sacko, then realised I was going to say exactly what I said last season. There has been no change in his end product or his decision-making, which is why he's not starting in the first XI. We've signed better than him now. But someone has seen enough to gamble on him, as his faults could and should be knocked out of him. If he didn't have electrifying pace, they wouldn't have signed him. It's a natural skill, and he's top of the pile. I think someone best summed him up by saying his feet were too fast for his brain. Best to look at him as a young work in progress, and try to avoid the negativity. Kids react badly to that.
i have decided that for dinner today I'm going to have a full breakfast please log in to view this image
Don't knock it! Never tried it myself. Used to work with a guy whose ideal dessert was to bung a mars bar into a plate of custard. Turned my stomach. As for the deep fried thing, even our Nigella is in on the act - she did deep fried battered bounty bars on the telly, which is a little more appealing to me, but not so much that I'd try it. First exponents of this though were the Chinese restaurants. Who hasn't enjoyed a battered, deep fried banana or pineapple ring in hot syrup? Now that I would fight you for!
Can I reclaim my status if I tell you I love deep fried pizza? Again, don't knock it until you've tried it. Wonderful crisp to it. I'm actually very particular about chocolate. I don't eat as much of it as I used to, but it's got to be freezing cold, right out of the fridge or freezer. Sadly, deep fried doesn't tick that box - otherwise I'd be right up for it!
