Well I went to the game!! spent £33 for the bus for myself and my daughter and my tickets cost me £29 and was very disapointed and disheartened. We looked tired and slugish. Before the second goal we were playing and passing ok. What has happened to Sharpy i do not know, at fault for the second goal. It just went downhill from there. We lost the ball in every department . No Ainsworth is not known as a diver couldn't see what happened from where we were but he should have gone down late on in the second half where he was definately fouled in the box but chose to stay on his feet and keep going and I saw that one.! Anyway it was a long trip home!! lets hope some changes are made for saturday and things pick up.

there are a lot of fancied team that have had a poor start, but don't panic, give it six games before you start wanting changes being made, the new players have got to settle in, i think after the first 10 games you will know if we have a the "x-factor" to be up there competing or not ...time will tell!

Back from my week long travels from the sublime performance against Derby to the ridiculous against Oxford.

We made Derby look like a bottom tier team and could have scored six but for some wayward finishing and an inept referee.

We carried on in this vein against Burton in the first half missing no end of chances and hitting the woodwork, yet we went in one down. The second half we were rarely in the game but Gornell scored a well taken equaliser. What does he have to do to get a start? Collins too often huffs and puffs and chooses the wrong option. The general consensus after this game was that Sharps should be left out and Jacobson brought in with SCS moving to the centre. Unfortunately the skipper is beginning to show his age. He should be able to compensate for this with know how but this also appears to have eluded him.

Oxford-what can you say apart from it was poor but not altogether hopeless. Ainsworth continued to run them ragged (as in all matches this season so far) but his crosses never found a man and this was no fault of his. As for diving, the full back completely cleaned him up because it was the only way he could stop him. Two Shrewsbury players were booked for lesser offences and the Oxford player went unpunished. On another occasion Morgan was wrestled to the ground IN the area but the ref was a "homer" and gave the free kick just outside and again no booking.

The first Oxford goal was a stunner from lots of yards and the kind that flies way into the stand (if there was one!!!) on 99 occasions out of a hundred and the second an awful defensive mistake by Sharps.

Look on the bright side. Our results against Burton and Oxford almost mirror last season's--- a draw and a defeat. No need to throw in the towel yet.

KDS - Well said, I'd agree with what you have said there. I didn't go to the away games but I feel that Gornell needs a start and Sharps needs a rest for certain. Why did Jacobson not feature on tuesday? It looks like Turner has sounded the opportunity for change this weekend and as McAllister scored in the reserves against a very strong Wolves team he might also get the nod come saturday.

yes i have calmed down, but being in 21st place is unknown territory for a few years, and what worries me is that it will most difficult to keep up with the top 6 who even at this early stage look a little too comfortable in their rarified atmosphere

turning to kds excellent 3 reports, it does seem thankfully gt has others to turn to whilst the prima donnas find their form. gt should get sharps, such a champion for town, fully fit. did tom bradshaw play in the reserves, if fit i would like to see him up front rather that wearing his bottom out on the bench, and what is gt doing to reward young johnson's decision to stay with town.

as i have said elsewhere, crewe are where they are because of who they have played so far. gills and millers are 2 of the top 6. sort the defence, light the blue touchpaper in midfield, fire up our attack, replenish uncle rowlands decanter, and above all restore the players confidence and there you have it. a rampant restored shrewsbury town romping up that league.

so onward shrews, floreat shrews, come on you shrews, and let us not forget swan upping time next week. amwyrhig am byth

and the person i feel sorry for at present is our uncle graham, his babes have under performed, except for the magnificent win against derby, let us have a bit of that spirit shown on saturday. lets hear it on saturday 3 cheers for turner and his babes. fs coys and ctrab

if and it seems unlikey, you were 3rd then, only temporary, you would be in the top six. i dont know what they teach in that mangotsfield school but in shrewsbury 1,2,3 4,5,6.follow in sequence i dont know if those gasometers are still there but they aren't half messing your maths up.

now then try this 3x2 = 6, 4+ 2 =6 5+ 1=6 and so on you just keep practicing, you will get there in may, shame about the gas though. oh and 3+ 3=6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    Oooh talking numbers, sweet. :)

What`s the difference between Shrews and a triangle? A triangle has one more point <ok>

ps. 10 plus 10 = 20 which by coincendence is the same as Shrews place in the league :)

you would of thought as the shrews lives in this divison that they would know that 1-3 is auto and 4-7 is play offs. the top 6 should be top 7 <doh>
