Seriously depressed.

At around 1.30 this afternoon it was looking all so good. Carroll bids rejected, Barton about to sign a new contract.

Now this. I could just about cope with Carroll getting sold. I convinced myself that we would cope - after all, we are unbeaten in the league since he last played. I could cope with yet more lies from Ashley. Then we find out that Carroll sniffed the money and followed it.

What do we get in return? Ireland on loan? Great.

And amongst eveything that has happened this evening, has anyone heard more about Barton's contract? As far as I am concerned Barton is the difference between relegation and staying in this league.
